RE: Archery Research ?

I shot the new cam and a half AR34 yesterday and here's what I found.

Faster. By about 12-15fps all else being equal to the single cam

Smoother draw cycle. Signifiantly smoother. The single was nice, this is dreamy. No humps or bumps.

Much bigger valley. The valley is about 3 times the single models. Letoff is significantly increased as well. Wall seemed a little sloppy and I personally prefer an effective 70% or less to be as accurate as I can be. This was probably closer to 75% effective which could be plus for a hunter looking for a really smooth and easy shooting bow. The "blade" target colors were a little "too fly" for this white guy, but it does leave an impression.

RE: Archery Research ?

Airbourne Archer I can't give you the number's just off hand but the AR wasn't any faster than my GoldenEagle Splitfire which I really like .I loved the feel and the shootability of the AR and the forgiveness of the long brace ,I was looking for something with lot's of speed and just my opinion the AR didn't have what I was expecting or hoping for .I'm gonna take a guess that 260fps with string loop and brass nock and kisser button on it ,I'm comparing the speed with my Splitfire shooting them side by side they were pretty even. Don't take me wrong the AR was a much nicer bow compared to my Splitfire but it just wasn't any faster. I was also shooting the AR without a stabilizer and it was among the best as for no vibrations.

But then speed doesn't put meat in the freezer but that's what I was looking for .

RE: Archery Research ?

I shot an ar 37, kodiac, couple mathews, and hoyt, and bowtech wednesday when i was testing bows, the AR 37 wasnt too bad, but the one i shot had no valley and it wasnt very comfortable, it had little shock and was all around smooth, but when i shot the Liberty i was hooked, and bought it, the ar and the liberty arent the fastest bows out there, but speed isnt everything :)

RE: Archery Research ?

I am glad someone else agrees speed is NOT everything. I am currently shooting a fred bear vapor 300. Entry level bow to be sure, but at 263fps w/ 423gr carbons plus accurate and VERY quite shooting I am having a hard time justifying a new bow. The "new bow bug" has indeed bitten, though I'm fighting it I think I'm losing. If I could just convince my wife its a real sickness, hmm......
