WWAG, you're using some South American wood there. It is indeed a beautiful wood. There is also the 'Green Heart' and it yellowish-greenish in color, just as durable a hardwood--then there is also the Bullet Wood all 'heavy species of wood'.
I've got a turkey call made from Purple Heart and was trying my best to post a picture of it here, I can't get the darn thing to work---looks like the 'WOODETTE to your WOODIE'.

I have a beutiful custom hybrid longbow from Allegheny Mountain (now defunct) that is the laminated grey/black maple (no brown or green) and has purpleheart overlays, limb tips, and center strip through the riser.

I prefer exotics on my wood bows, and ordered this wood combo on a whim.. I wasn't sure if it would look so good, but I was wrong...the grey lams & purpleheart make for an absolutely beautiful bow.

I had a woodie when I was 18 or 19, you know a urine induced diamond cutter woodie! So bad that when I went to push it down my feet came out from under me! hit my head on the flush valve and broke the tank too!

Be careful you don't knick it with your broadhead!
