The Stealth Stabilizer.

It's so exilarating when in our quest to improve the performance of our bows and ourselves we stumble on a product that will do just that.
This was the case with the Stealth Stabilizer.

Like one of the threads posted here that asks--'Why do you come here?'
I came here to improve my knowledge, see what's new, to see what works and to learn from the mistakes or success of others.

Once again, this forum has me helped to find that improvement and therefore I wanted to say thanks to all those who played a part.
In so doing, I would now like to play a part and sincerely recommend to anyone looking to get themselves a stabilizer to give the STEALTH Stabilizer a try.
This product does what it's supposed to do and more!!!
Jerry, (Stealth Archery), you have contributed well to our sport and I take this opportunity to say "thank you" for providing me the chance to use a product that really works!!!

I'll second that one. Jerry is a great guy to deal with, and maybe he should borrow a phrase from mathews, STEALTH STABILIZERS, Catch them if you can.:)

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

How would you guys compare that stabilizer performance-wise to the sims modular stabilizer.

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

I can tell you that the Stealth look's good, but since my new bow isn't here yet you'll have to ask Ampahunter that question but the craftmanship is definetly top notch and Ampahunter think's it's absolutely great ,he say's that it definetly makes a big difference with vibration's .Keith is a little under the weather today but I'm sure he'll respond tomorrow on this .Check out www.stealtharchery.com Jerry is a great guy, and will build to custom fit for you as well, I got the 6" and Keith got the 4" custom .

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

Nubo,I looked at the site you provided for us and they do look like a very good stabilizer.Unfortuanetly i have never used one on my hunting bows and am wondering about the 4" for hunting purposes.I dont think i want to go to big, being awkward and getting caught up in the bush-lol-----Anyways i was wondering where i can purschase one ,and what would the 4" custom price be compaired to all the other stabilizers on the market.I will be installing it on my 04 patriot sc if it ever arrives(trying to wait patiently---lol---)P.S----how do you get the bowtech logo on the bottom of your post, thank you for the help------ex:)

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

Beav--as for stabilizers, I've used quite a few over the years, more recently to name a few--The Enhancer 2000, The Sims NAV/COM Modular System (I think the same one you're speaking of), The TR Xchanger, The Doinker D7 Hunter,The NAP Shock Blocker and The Golden Key Tranquilizer. I've also used these in combination with the PSE NV system Dampeners mounted on the limbs.
They all worked well, some different to others. At the time I used them and I liked them all--some more than others.
However recently I got the Stealth and I tried it on one of my bows with the worse hand shock--no, I'm NOT going to name the bow at this point--Ha!
My conclusion was the Stealth tamed that bow like a cowboy would do with a wild horse. Was like driving in a car with an air ride suspension.
The improvment in the bow's performance was immediately noticeable.
Nevertheless you would have to find the right combination for your shooting set up and style, as the Stealh comes in lengths from 4" all the way the 12"--and I think I would go as far as saying Jerry would even custom make you one with the weight and length you require, but you'll have to speak with him on that.
Like I've said in a previous thread, the Stealth is one stabilizer IMO is 'worth' the try, as I am very impressed with its performance.

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

The 4" Stealth weighs 6 ounces. I had Jerry build me one and now everyone is wanting them! :D Maybe he will come out with a 4" model and put it on the web-site so people don't have to custom order them.

The 4" will cost you $54.95 + 4.95 shipping and handling. It is a little expensive, but it was definetly the best investment for my bow. This little stabilizer is just so impressive!

Here is what the 4" Stealth looks like on the new BowTechs (Liberty)...

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

I have a question, or 2. How did you know the 4" - 6 oz would work for your bow? I mean, did you just make a guess, try a similar weight but different brand? Stabilizers are also there to intentionally change the balance and movement of the bow, so how did you account for that? Just a few questions. They sound like a great investment, but without being able to test the different sizes, both weight and length, on a given bow, just how do you know? One change to the next would competely alter the "feel" of the bow. I am sure all the Stealth models would reduce vibration and such.

Just curious,

JMAC

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

jmac,

Those are good questions! I like a slow forward roll on my bows, and the Liberty was already balanced perfectly even. I knew that if I put a 6 oz. on the front with the stabilizer enhancer in the back, it would counter-act and the front would just slowly roll forward!

Another thing about the Stealth Stabilizers and that one chamber weighs more than the other, so in other words, the stabilizer doesn't balance in the center. You can rotate the heavy side towards your riser or you can have it far away from the riser, which is a nice feature, it allows you to get the feel that you want.

I just went by what my gut told me, which is sometimes the best thing to do, and it worked great for me! Any extra weight up front will help stabilize the bow. For hunting purposes, the different weight distribution of the stabilizer won't make a big deal in accuracy. If you want a stabilizer for extreme tournament shooting, then you definetly want to get the best balancing stabilizer out there for the bow, but for hunting, it just isn't as important (yes, it should still be thought of though).

Thanks. Kind of what I was thinking, but just thought I would ask. My new bow will be here soon and of course, I need new stuff to go on it. :D

I am currently using a Golden KEY 7" Tranquilizer, I hear so much about the Stealth I am wondering if I purchase a custom 6" 8 oz. would there be a noticeable differance from what Im now using.
Thanks

RE: The Stealth Stabilizer.

BowTech Dually.......in a word YES.

I tested my Pro38 Dual Cam as well as my Patriot Dually with an 8" Stealth Hunter
as well as a 6" VS. 2 different length Tranquilizers. It wasn't even fair. The 8" actually beat out a combination of the 7" Tranquilizer AND an Enhancer2000.
If you really want to tame a BowTech Dually to its fullest, don't skimp on the mass weight of the stabilizer. I hunted with an 8" 12oz.? I think and while it gave a pretty solid forward roll when held by the grip while static, it just sits there at the explosion of the shot then falls forward. It will also help steady your aim.
A stock 6" Hunter(whatever weight that is? I forget off the top of my head) is probably just about perfect for a Patriot Dually. While the 8" was fine, That length (6") felt better to me, but I was trying a borrowed one at the time as I only had an 8" so that's what I hunted with. While they work extemely well on any bow, The dual chamber design lends itself very well to the balanced explosion of a dual cam.

I am shooting a straight 6" Hunter off my Liberty for this season (No custom weighting).

I won't shoot anything else on my bows.

If you are impressed with the stabilizer, check out the new bow holder. I received one in the mail a couple of days ago and after testing it in the yard, I found that Jerry has put out another great product. Sturdy and light. My bow will be in place and ready this hunting season. With the looks of his products. It is eveident that there is some pride in his workmanship.

Jerry! just to let you know ,I recieved my new 2004 BowTech Patriot Dually on Sat but due to my busy schedule I haven't been able to do a comparison test as yet ,But i have shot my new bow with your 6" on it and there is a quite a difference from the Freak bow with your stabilizer on it compared to the 10" Vibrocheck Isolator .I hope before the weekend that I'm able to do the comparison between the 2 I'll let you know how it goes but as for a great looking stabilizer with great craftmanship I'm sure there will be no comparison .Thank's for biulding such a great product for us hunter's and maybe real soon I'll get one of those bow holders .

I stopped by Cabelas yesterday and picked up an 8" Hunter. I only put a few arrows through it in the basement but it does seem to shoot a bit nicer. The bow now falls slightly forward in my hand which feels great and seemed to reduce any torque I imparted on it. We'll see for sure how it shoots after I get the new mod installed and everything retuned.
