Default Spott Hog Sights??

I was just at their websight browsing for new sights. I broke half of my fibers this year and need to get a new one.

First off, let me say that these things are expensive!! I couldn't believe how much they wanted for their sights.

My question is are they worth it? Are they that good?

Thanks Guys

I think they are the best made sight on the market. The “right on” sells for about 80.00 bucks. Right in line with the plastic TR sights – so I don’t think they are that pricey considering.

¼-20 bolts for all adjustment – can you say tank

My only real complaint is with the individual pin adjustments. A little tricky at first – a real non-issue though. The pins are not the brightest pins out there – they hold light well after its to dark to shoot – but they are not blinding.

I love the sight and the way it is built – it is a quality piece of Alum.

You should check out Copper John sights. Very well made and at a good price.

IBM.

IMO the Spot Hogg is worth every penny simple the best built fixed pin sight there is.

I have the Hogg-It with 2" pin guard that I got mainly for 3d but it is now on my hunting bow.

If you shop around you can find them cheaper than their web site.

Check Pinwheel,Lancasters and on ArcheryTalk as they come up for sale there every now and then.

I've got the Sure-Thing which I think they renamed the Real-Deal. I shoot it with .019 pins. The pins "stay" past legal shooting times. It's rugged and never let me down. This same sight has been pounded for over a year for hunting and 3D. I'm happy with it. No complaints here.

I use the Right-On sight which is the same as the Real Deal exept the Right-On lacks micro adjustment. I paid $100 but do not regret it. It's a great sight.

A buddy of mine has them on his bow and and praises them to no end, he pretty much has me convinced as I like the smaller pins(.019)

I have only seen the .029 Fibers in the catalogs. Where are you getting your hands on .019?

IBM,

I have been kicking around the idea of picking one of the Spott Hogg sights up as well but, like you, the price has been the major deterrent. The least expensive one "real deal" does not appear to have a bubble level...at least not in the catalogs I have seen...which is a must for any of my sights. The next one up in my catalog was going for $100 but it did have a level.

Other than the less fragile fiber optics and the 3rd axis adjustment, are there any other advantages to the Spott Hogg over the Copper John lineup??
