RE: Merlin's new teases....
Boy, Todd, you are quick! Sorry guys, Ben wanted to release everything this year so I couldn't say anything till he did. The syntech laminated limb skins are a revolutionary design, especially when incorporated with the new Pro Fusion parabolic limbs on the MaxXtreme---which BTW are pre moulded to benefit any configuration while still maintaining excellent pocket angle. This produces less stress and makes for a better overall design. We are quite excited about this technology, and already have other manufacuters in contact with the factory discussing the possible use on their bows.
The camo is a bit darker for 2004, with a tinge of green in it. IBO speeds are around an honest 290+fps at IBO on the MaxXtreme, with 33" ATA and a smidge over 8" brace height---Merlin does not inflate their speeds,(actually we usually under-rate them) nor do we feel that speed is of the utmost importance-- especially when giving up accuracy and forgiveness to get it. Merlin builds the most accurate and highest quality bows on the market, not the fastest. More and more companies are figuring this out about the speed deal too-- look around.
The new website will be up soon, and all are welcome to browse around, download a catalog along with spec sheets, etc, when it is up. www.merlin-bows.co.uk
But heres' a pic if I can get this to work Rangeball---

After some email conversations with Ben at Merlin about a month or so ago, I was left with the impression the IBO would be close to 320.
I agree with Pinwheel's statements regarding speed, but I was holding out hope for more energy...
Still interested in hearing more about the shooting characteristics of this bow though... it's not that far below the Liberty or Justice, which I am giving serious consideration to, although at 80#s...
Pinwheel, has there been any changes to the FDC of the omega cam for '04? I assume the stated IBO was for the omega cam, correct?
