2004 Mighty Mite questions
 

Has anyone shot this bow yet? I would like to hear your impressions on it. How does it shoot for having such a short axle to axle? How is the balance on this bow? I have heard peoples complaints about the bowtechs in the past with balance issues. I would be switching from an 03 Magnatec if I do indeed purchase this bow. Any and all revelent info would be appericiated. Thanks.

Actually there were/are only 2 BowTech models that I am aware of that had any "balance issues".......the 2002 Patriot DEFINITELY. Was very top heavy to the point where most guys were shooting them with reverse stabilizer mounts.
The 2003 VFT was a LITTLE tippy bare bow, but nothing to get excited about. And that's it.
The Mighty Mite I had (2001) had a very good neutral balance, and was a pretty accurate bow for how short it is.
The 2004 installment should be terrific with its redesigned longer riser and higher brace height........should help it point a little more like a longer ATA bow.
The 2004's I have handles have had beautiful balnce, and I wuold expect the Mighty Mite is no exception.......

I shot one the other night. Now I wake up every morning thinking about it. The balance is perfect, IMO. It feels like part of my arm. They weigh 3.5 lb bare. The new I cam has been smoothed out. Less hump before dropping into the valley. The draw force curve feels flatter then previous years. With the longer riser in 04 it feels like a longer ATA bow than it is. The Mighty Mite holds very well, and shoots great. It is noticeably faster than the Justice or Liberty. Recoil and vibration are right on par with them, also. I haven't been this excited about a new bow in a long time and, I will have one.;)

My 02 is just slightly top heavy and with the old grip...I may change it for an 04 this year, but it would have to really be nice. I wouldn't take my money back for the one I shoot now. Like PDQ said...it's like an extension of your arm.

Coming from the Magnatech...It'll seem smaller. The split limbs and pockets on the Hoyts made them seem longer than they were with width it seemed to me. The MM will seem "thinner" and lighter all the way around, but more solid, quicker and "tighter" on all counts as well.

Definitely worth checking out.

I think there will be a definitive difference in feel between your Magnatec and the MM VFT. For starters, the grip styles are very different. The rubber sideplates and riser have an entirely different feel than the one piece, narrow, wood grip of the new Bowtechs. Both promote less torque but from slightly different designs.

Second, the MM VFT is going to have a different overall feel and balance. The Hoyt TEC risers do provide a very stable shooting platform by moving the bow's mass weight over more of an area in the horizontal plane...almost in the same form as a rear mounted stabilizer. On the other hand, the longer riser/parallel limb design of the new Bowtech's provides more stability in the vertical plane since the mass weight is distributed more away from the grip area. And, ofcourse, the MM VFT is siginficantly shorter so more of the bow is in front of you as opposed to being "above" or "below" the imaginary line created by the arrow and your bow arm.

I want to shoot a little shorter bow next season in comparison to the magnatec. I have shot the vipertec quite a few times I like it but I am not sold on it yet. I really look forward to shooting the MM.

Also just so I know what to expect when I finally do get to shoot one of these.
Set at 70# 29 inch draw shotting 395 grain gold tips what kind of speed would i be looking at? I am not a speed freak or anything I am just curious. Thanks

Whats the price tag on the 04 Mighty Mite? I almost bought the 03 model but decided to hold on to my bow for one more season, I'm definatly getting a new one this year and I think the Mighty Mite is what I'm gonna get. Just wondering what they were running though.

I believe the MSRP on the MM VFT to be around $619.99. Ofcourse that is going to vary from dealer to dealer.

As for the speed out of the MM VFT....throw about 15 fps on top of whatever speed you were getting out of the Vipertec and that should put you in the ball park. :)


Seriously though, assuming a bare string other than a string loop, I would guess around 295 fps. With a peep sight and/or the factory installed string silencers I would not think something in the 280 fps range to be out of the question.

I just got a 60 lb. Mighty Mite at 28" draw it's shooting 294 fps. through my chronograph witha 301 grain A/C/C. The Birth Certificate says it shot 295 fps.

That's with the 2 factory installed eliminator buttons and hush kit on the string.
