**BowTech LIBERTY....A Photo Gallery (Pics!)**

Hey guys.......as some of you jealous types already know I picked up my BowTech Liberty yesterday![:-]:)

Some of you have been wanting to see the details of the riser, and just a few better pics of the bow in general.

As well as the new Mossy Oak "Obsession" camo pattern.

I think these pics give you a pretty good look, especially at the machining in the riser, very sweet!.......if there's anything else you would like me to photograph on the bow just ask, I have a decent digital camera and a hair trigger.;)
There's 4 pics so give them a second or two to load they're pretty nice.

1.Liberty

2.Pivoting Limb Pocket/upper riser

3.Lower Limb

4.Upper Riser

Machining looks awesome as do the pockets!

How 'bout a close up of the cam, please? :)

WOW, what a great looking bow:D I really like the looks of that cam, it looks very well "balanced" and I see a little bit of Proline's design on the post feed side where the cable comes around the axle. It this case it looks like the cable comes around the bearing "housing". COOL:D I really like the idler also, kinda reminds me of a whitetail's rack!!! Can't wait till I see one in my hands also!!! Thanks Matt!

Yeah Vic, I don't care how big you are, I agree with Jeff!

:D

Matt,

Sweeett lookin' bow my friend....but I have a pic request as well. Can you take a front shot of either limb so I can get a better look at the camo? :)

....and can you get a nice shot of the sight window from either the front or back. I would like to see how sharp that angle in the riser is.

Thanks.

I mean ..uh.. that's what somebody told me.

How did you get such clear pics. Is it the quality of the camera or do you know how to set up the lighting better?

Oh yeah, I do have a 2004.....but also a short attention span.

How did you get such clear pi.......oops, see what I mean.

I think BJ is still upset that you didn't send him any of your last batch of pierogies and halupkies...;). Serves you right if you didn't. :)

Matt,

Disregard part of my request as all the photos did not load initially when I read your post. I would just like to see the front/rear shot of the riser itself.

Thanks.

Vic,

I believe it to be a combination of the lighting, the resolution capability of the camera and the distance that the photo was taken from. I have a hard time with my 1.2 megapixel digital when taking close up shots. It just doesn't want to seem to focus to my tastes.

Very nice Matt.
Nubo, in my area the Liberty was $20.00 more that the Pat SC for 04. The Pat SC was shooting about 7 fps faster at 71 lbs. Both are VERY nice bows[8D]

Matt, What are the numbers for that bow as regards to speed with whatever arrows you are shooting. IBO etc. You know the good stuff.

RE: **BowTech LIBERTY....A Photo Gallery (Pics!)**

Brian,
The Liberty is not one of BowTech's "Burners".......it's what I'd call the Luxury car ride. Respectable speed and you can't feel the potholes.:D
My "Birth Certificate" said 30"/70#/350grs=300fps even.
I haven't weighed or measured a thing yet, but I plan to.
I do know that the bow came shipped with a brass nock and 2 rubber eliminator style cushion buttons.....they eat speed like a fat kid eats cake. I hope with my simple Tru-Peep and string loop the speed loss will wash from replacing the factory stuff and then its all arrow weight from there.

I have seen 2 different 29" Birth Certificates and they read 287 and 289fps for the same draw weight/arrow weight.

I plan to hunt with A/C/C 3-60's at about 400grs (depends upon fletch style)so I expect my hunting set-up to be shooting somewhere around 280fps+/- or more if I can wring a little more draw weight out of mine. 70#+ is nothing with this cam.
I wish I had Monday off so I could head out and try to maybe be the first guy to take a deer with one......looks like I'll have to wait until Saturday.

hmmm...

With that description, and those speeds posted by Matt... sounds like Bowtech created a clone of the MQ-1! :D:D

RE: **BowTech LIBERTY....A Photo Gallery (Pics!)**

Kelly, absolutely. I gotta have an 04 Mighty Mite. Incredible short bow. I shot it side by side with the Justice and, it was noticebly faster. The Justice draws so smoothly that it felt lighter but, since I shoot 60#, bows I'm going for the MM. I also have a 60# Pro 40 Dually on order in camo. Thank God I have a big closet.;)

hmmm...

With that description, and those speeds posted by Matt... sounds like Bowtech created a clone of the MQ-1! :D:D

Except by all accounts so far (including some current and former Mathews shooters) ;):D

1) The cam is smoother
2) The wall is infinitely more solid
3) Adjustable letoff and minute draw length adjustments
4) Less Shock & vibration
5) Locking limb pockets
6) Better strings and cables
7) Much better camo than that Trebark II ;)
8) Factory installed Hush kit & VB's saves ya some dough
9) Only need to swap a module for a draw length change
10) bearings in idler AND cam
11) better defined/less sensitive valley
12) Less torquey grip

I could go on....:D;)

Seriously..I've owned a bunch of Q series Mathews as well as the legacy and Icon. From what I'm hearing the new F-cam bows are a step up from those in recoil/shock/noise/draw cycle.

Matt / PA 12-07-2003 08:29 AM

RE: **BowTech LIBERTY....A Photo Gallery (Pics!)**

Greg,
Jeff is right on with his assumptions........I've shot an MQ-1 quite a bit and while no slouch and heck of a great bow in its own right (Maybe THE classic single cam) Everything Jeff listed is an improvement over the MQ-1.
The Liberty makes the MQ-1 feel jumpy by comparison.
Don't try one Greg,you have a new baby.........don't do it!![:o]:D

Sag,
Thanks,
Believe it or not it's not an expensive camera, and it takes even better pictures when you aren't trying to hold it steady. Off of a solid base its REALLY clear.
It's an HP-315 with 2.1Mp resolution. I think you can find them all over the place on Ebay for a little over $100 bucks. It was pretty much as nice as you could get a few years ago when I got it but technology has brought the price down considerably. There are 5Mp cameras on the market now(for much higher prices)
Great little investment! Nice clear pics, and the instant gratication we all love! I don't feel bad bringing it along on hunts and it's been a lot of fun.

The Birth Certificate on mine at 27"/#70 reads 287. It's still at the shop getting setup, and I dont get it until Christmas. I can't wait!

RE: **BowTech LIBERTY....A Photo Gallery (Pics!)**

Actually Matt, the temptation isthere... but for the Mighty Mite after reading about it on Bowtech's website, and from the intitial reports/findings of others here. That smoothness with the added speed in that little of a treestand bow... Wow! And considering 99.9% of my shots out of my bows are from my stands... well, it kinda makes me wonder what it would be like... ;):D

I mean, I hear what you and Jeff are saying about the improvements, but until I shoot one (which I will fairly soon), it'd be hard to get me to spend money to buy another bow which really does mimic my MQ-1 so much in specs and everything. The speed's the same, I've already got limbsavers, my bow is whisper quiet, and I love the feel of the cam and back wall. I guess if you were really trigger happy on trading bows all the time it may be worth it, but I can't see dumping nearly a thousand-dollar investment for a very similar product.

Again, I may feel differently after shooting the Liberty, but I sincerely doubt it. It'd have to be much better.

The Mighty Mite, on the other hand, would be a perfect complement and stablemate! ;)
