Default RE: Does string have to have twist?

I' ve shot a lot of strings without twist in them and never had a problem, but I think it' s better to have some twists in a string. That' s for endless loop strings. If you' re talking flemish, the twists are what keeps the loops from flying apart. Flemish strings MUST have twists in them.

In a nutshell, YES. The strings should have about 15 or so twists in it. Without twists the string has a tendency to " parachute" when shot, meaning it catches air and ballons out causing noise. There are other reasons, too, but I just had a brain fart. Hope this helps.

Twisting will also put equal tension on each strand. It makes the string stronger, quieter, faster and better looking. Need anymore reasons?

I was also under the assumption that a string with twists in it tends to stretch less than a string without twists.
