Default Mathews Icon

I may buy a Mathews Icon. It is used, and the guy wants $400. Has anyone shot this bow? It looks very forgiving. Also, the draw is 29 inches, I need 30. How much does it cost to get a different cam? Thanks for any replies.

You might be able to get 30 inches with the cam.

I think they run around $65?

I owned one for a short period of time.

Pros: Very smooth, easy draw. Very quiet. Smooth on the shot.

Cons: A little " clunky" feeling (balance is wierd), not too fast (if such things concern you..it was about 15 FPS slower than my Legacy apples to apples) and the valley seems wide but isn' t; you have to shoot HARD off the wall...very easy to creep and not know it which gives ya some goofy arrows.

Had the valley been less finicky I would have kept it.

Cams (which are draw length specific..no adjustment) run about $80 at my shop IIRC.

Its one of the best shooting bows Mathews has. I know several top Mathew shooters that love theres. I shoot indoor and hunted with mine this year. You can usally find a cam used for $50.00 at archerytalk.com classifiads.

nice bow - Pros; smooth drawing, queit, no handshock, great accuracy. Cons; easy to creep so you have to get used to it. Mine seems a little picky about arrow spine as well - no idea why.

Really a good shooting bow & I really like them once I got used to it.

Nice bow..............
Any proshop should be able to order the right cam in.
You have to consider you need another string and cable to.
Maybe you can lower the price a bit now that you know..???

Change draw. You do not have to change cables and strings. Theres only one size cable and string for the Icon. Good bow. You will not find smoother bow.
