Default Replacing bow String

I bought a package bow and I am having a hell of a time with peep sight. Now that I have got it to stop slipping up and down when shooting it is now rotating to the left. I have had shop adjust it 4 times after I shot 200 arrows thru it. So I don't know if its the ****ty string or the serving job done on peep? My season starts on September 12th. Is it too late to put a new string on? Does it need time to stretch?

Thank You

The up and down part would be a poor serving job. Rotation is usually a symptom of string stretch. To fix that, you can put a good string on it (talk to 60x about that), or you can use a peep that has a piece of tubing on it that straightens the peep out when you hit full draw. If it were right before season opener, I'd go with the peep as a quick fix. At this point, you still have plenty of time to put a new string on and re-tune everything, so its all up to you. A good string is pre-stretched, so it shouldn't need any extra time to settle in.

Do you have a D loop on your string? If so you can twist it on the string to align with your peep. Once you get it where you want it you can retighten the knots.

There is still plenty of time to replace your compound bow string before the season. A good custom bow string will be prestretched and have very minimal shoot in time.

is it a pse? I have a brute x and had the same problem. and have heard pse strings are bad for that on there moderate bows.I fixed it by using a peep with a tube. other than that I love the bow its very accurate and fast. I plan on getting a 60x before next season

No It was a Cabelas regulator. It shoots good and its quiet. After the peep issue all the serving on it unraveled. What I did was have a shop make a custom pre stretched string and had a tubed peep put on it. Its good now. Ty for responding JLankford 4.
