how do you mount your biscuit?
i have mine mounted with the biscuit ahead of the grip, which made my arrows almost too short. i saw on a hunting show where the shooter had his mounted to the rear of the grip, which would act like a short overdraw (i assume). does anyone else shoot this way?

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
The biscuit is designed to be placed behind the grip. Putting it in the front means you have to have arrows that are at least a few inches longer than necessary. It also means the arrow will be in contact with a part of the bow for a longer time, which will lead to more torque problems.

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
t-roy, you definetly want to move that thing to the back of your grip;) You could probably MAKE it work in the front but I think you' ll be much happier with it in the rear where it was designed to go;):)

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
A rest that can actually be mounted in front of the riser? The " WB" is definately versatile. :D:D

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
I had a good lauugh at a not very " sporting goods" store the other day when they had a WB set up on the front side of the riser of a kit bow they were trying to sell.
PLEASE do yourself a favor and move the rest to the back of the riser and go get you some shorter arrows, or have yours cut down. |
RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
t-roy you won' t have to have your arrows cut down any? I' ve not heard or anyone yet who HAD to cut their arrows down. I suppose you could but don' t know what the advantage would be.

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
i like mine with bacon ha ha ha behind the grip like a rest gose behind
:D |
RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
I cut two inches off of my arrow when I installed my bisquit.
#1 it solved a spline problem I was having with carbons. #2 They are a bit faster, I could care less though. The nice thing about the bisquit is that there is almost no way an arrow can come off the rest. I don' t worry about my hand when drawing nearly to the back of the riser now. |

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
lmao I concur with XI. While my " biscuit" prefers I mount it from the front, I MUCH prefer " behind" . The shaft doesnt require being as long and with my quiver, I need all the help I can get!!! :D

Ok, I must admit that I thought of a few crude remarks as well but i will keep them to myself this time....;)
On a more serious note, for you techies out there, why can' t you mount the biscuit in front of the riser?....assuming the bow' s riser design allows for it. |
RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
Not a " Techie," but do know how to tune a bow and troubleshoot.
I have never really thought about it, being I never considered mounting my rest at front of riser. Could not do it anyway, I shoot a real rest. :D However, and without much thought put into it, some of the possible negative aspects that come to mind are; 1. Arrow on rest too long allows more time for arrow to be affected by negative forces. 2. Any degree of torque of bow would be amplified. 3. Friction (drag) on shaft would be for entire length of shaft. 4. From my recurve days; right and left flight could be affected if rest is too far forward or back from bow' s pressure point. I don’t know if this " pressure point" issue is the same when using center-shot rests. Like I said, I never thought about it because I............. :D |

Like I said, I never thought about it because I............am a stuborn cuss [:o];)

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
I think torque would be magnified, the further you move a rest from the pivot point of the grip, whether it be to the front or the rear. If you can mount the rest in front, and keep it as close to the pivot point as you can when mounting in the rear, then I see no significant disadvantage. The whisker biscuit doesn' t work like other rests anyway. It relies on pressure from all sides of the arrow to keep it centered. It may help arrow flight to keep the arrow in this rest for a longer time.

RE: how do you mount your biscuit?
Thanks folks for your thoughts. It sounds like I have found a new toy to experiment with for now...:)
Come to think of it, I think Len mentioned that he had someone come into the shop with a biscuit mounted on the front of the riser....I wonder what happened.....;):D |
