Spring tension for TM hunter/nap qck tune rest

Hello.
For the record, what is the general spring tension you should set on your rest? I was taught that if compressed... just enough to lift your arrow into shooting position. Is this correct?
For the tm hunter prong style arrow rest.

That is the ticket right there; we don't all shoot the same GPI arrow or FOC... Just see what works best for you. Just make sure your consistant to various yardages.

Softer is usually better as it allows the rest to move up and down to compensate for the vertical oscillations of the arrow. However spring tension can be adjusted to help eliminate these oscillations if the arrow spine is off a slight amount. That's what tuning is all about. And experimenting is the best way to find that optimum setting.
