Hi Everyone,
I just bought my first bow thanks to all the suggestions from Shoot em Up Man' s (known to me as " Husband" ) thread titled " Help Me Pick A Bow For The Wife" .
We went out to a local pro shop with the PSE Spyder in mind. I tried the Spyder along with several bows that were recommended but for whatever reason they just didn' t feel right.
Then the guy at the pro shop handed me a bow and said " Try this" as soon as I held it I heard Heavenly music (okay not really but you get the picture
). At that moment I knew I had found my bow.
My new and first bow is a PSE Beast SP 65. It is currently set at 33 pounds that is adjustable to 50, 26" draw length with 65 % let off. I am shooting Beman Venture ICS 340 arrows with a 75 grain tip.
I went shooting for the first time yesterday to work on getting my sights set, to work on my form and of course practice, practice, practice
.
Kris

Congratulations Kris, and welcome to the forum. Careful, this stuff is addictive, especially if you hang around this crowd much
It' s great you can share this hobby/passion with your husband. Do you plan to hunt as well?

Hi Rangeball,
I probably will not hunt this year because I want to be sure I can make the shot. It isn' t the missing that I am worried about, I just don' t want to injure a deer.
I am hoping to hunt next year. I am so new and still have tons of hours of practice ahead of me
so we will just see how I progress.
Thanks!!
Kris

AKDoug,
Hey thanks!! I had posted on another board about my bow and the arrows I was using and several members said that the arrows I was using weren' t right. I really didn' t know how to respond to that as it was the guy at the pro shop that recommended them and set them up for me. I guess now I have to find me some new arrows.
One question (and remember I am new) why are the ones I am using not right most have said they are to stiff. For example what effect does it have on grouping etc???
Thanks,
Kris

Welcome to " The Bunch." It will get into your blood and once there it becomes genetically imprinted on you and only a bone marrow transplant has a chance of curing you . . . although a very SMALL chance.
The other day I was driving through a major intesection near Arlington, WA and I SWEAR . . . I smelled the musky scent of a rutting bull . . . right downtown . . . and that is what you have to look forward to. It is however a NOBLE and PROUD infection.
