RE: Considering a drop away rest........
I know you said you were looking at drop aways, but why not consider the whisker bisuit?? After going back and forth between getting a drop away and the WB I decided on the WB when I set up my new bow. I must say I love it!!! NO problems with it and it doesnt seem as hard on vanes as you would think I only have one arrow that it pulled the vane loose from the shaft and that was on the second trip through the rest for that shaft. I figure it wasnt glued correctly as all the rest still have original vanes and around 1000 shots.
I shot it everyday and my neighbor who was very sceptical of it has gone out and gotten one as well... I have heard alot of good things about the MZE but I am happy with my WB .. get bullet holes in the paper and excellent groups out to 50 yards so far..... |
RE: Considering a drop away rest........
My vote is for the NAP Quicktune 4000 . . . works GREAT for me. :D

RE: Considering a drop away rest........
I' ll throw a vote in for the Trophy Taker;). I' ve
got the Shakey Hunter on my Mathews FX and my BT Patriot. Took a little time and help at my bow shop to get the timing right on the launcher...now, my groups are better than they' ve ever been[:-]. I, too, was a bit skeptical when changing to a fall-away rest. However I just couldn' t get the clearance I needed with my carbon arrows and QT rest. After switching, my BH groups are much tighter......I can' t imagine ever switching back to a shoot-thru rest. Durability was another concern I had, but the TT has more than held up under some tough conditions. |

RE: Considering a drop away rest........
Another vote her for the Mirage. Very quiet and reliable thus far. But there is no micro adjustments on the rest. That could be its only downfall that I can think of.
http://www.trophytaker.com/ There is the website for tropy taker |

RE: Considering a drop away rest........
I have just recently swithced to a quick tune 2000. If I would of known the problems with the product I probably would have picked a different brand. The quick tunes work great if you do a little fabrication on them first. The pegs (tines or what ever those things that hold the arrow up are called) are too short. You will hit your riser or the bottom of rest with your cock feather. I had to take some stainless still wire of the same thickness and make longer ones. once I made the longer pegs it works great. My grouping has gotten tighter at all ranges. The only problem is I tend to tear up more fleatching and knocks, due to the tighter groups. I guess that isnt a bad thing:D. I like the way my drop away shoots now that the above problem has been fixed.
Good luck. |
