Just started shooting my BT Captain. My old arrows are:
7595 GT Pro Hunters 27" with 100 gr insert & 100 gr points
Blazers
S nock
Total weight 481 gr
I know these are probably too stiff but please read on.
My new Captain is 60 lbs at 27" and is only spitting these at 234 fps. When I select generic compund and enter my data, AA returns an IBO speed of 302 fps.
Does this mean that I am missing some efficiency through cam timing, overly stiff spine etc?

I am not going down this road again....Sorry.
However, I'd say this much IBO isn't real world.
And Archers Advantage is good for arguments.
Your draw length and shaft are likely the culprits. (and you are correct in that your efficiency is suffering, due too these two facts) As far as cam timing, can't say unless I had it in my hand or better yet my eye while you shoot. But you should know if it is off that bad.
I'd say most bows are closer to yours than the IBO....
Darn it, I said I wasn't going to do this again.
I'll leave this to the younger guys to hash out.
Good Luck. If you don't get any satisfaction....Shoot me a PM. I know a guru shop owner here in WV that shoots that particular bow. He may have a tip or two.

It is an efficiency thing. When the string gets loaded you lose efficiency. When you have a modular cam or a cam that has adjustable draw lengths, you lose efficiency. The 27" draw length adjusted down from 30 loses quite a bit of efficiency.
Why would you use generic when that bow is in the bow list?

The Captain is not in the version I downloaded today. Maybe I need an update?
The calculated weight on the arrows is 468. Did you get the 100 gr insert? Mine weigh out at 481 on the reloading scale. I haven't pursued the 12 gr discep yet.
