Default Tree Stand Designs

Good Morning Everyone.

Does anyone have a good design(drawing, maybe in a word document) that I can use for a ladder lean too tree stand (two-person)? I am in the process of trying to design one myself but I always like to turn the members for there advise.

Thanks
BL

Default RE: Tree Stand Designs

I' ve built a bunch of lean-to, ladder type stands in the past. I like the " select" 2x4' s for the ladder because of them being straight. You can bolt to 8 footers together for a 14' ladder. I usually build a 36" square platform and cut a V in it where it contacts the tree. A chain around the tree, a couple of spikes in the V so it supports your weight and a nice conduit railing around so you don' t fall off so easy.[8D] Don' t think I' d trust building one big enough for two people. You might get away with putting two on the same tree.[] Either way, now is the time to start building yours so they have time to weather before putting them up. Hope this helps.
