Default XT 55/75 or 75/95??

Hey guys

I' m shooting a Patriot DC set at 70# and 28in. draw. I heard some guys say that these bows like a heavier spine arrow than usual. Which Gold Tip would I be better off using? The 55/75 or the 75/95? Thanks.

Joe

That depends on your draw length and arrow lenght
Draw lenghts 28" and down the 5575 will be ok but 28.5" and up go for the 7595.

I have a 28" draw and can get away with the 3555 for 3d I am also using the MZE and my arrows are only 25.5"
For hunting I am using the 5575 for the extra weight

You might even take a look at the series 22 Gold Tip, I think you might just be surprised with the results and the extra width might just gain a few points.[8D]

My gold tip 55/75 tend to spine best around 63-65 lbs. This is with a 28 1/4" shaft, out of a Martin fuzion cam. Bowtech cams are about as " hard" as they get, so I would lean towards the 75/95 shafts if I was shooting your bow at 70 lbs. However, you never know until you test them for the best draw weight with your setup. Bare shaft tuning will tell you what you need to know.

rosko2, one thing you' ll find with the BowTechs is they like a stiff arrow. I have no experience with Gold Tip. I was shooting Redline 410s with my Mighty Mite at 55#. My Pat Dually at 55# (my draw is 29" ) shot poor groups with them past 25 yds. I tried PSE 300s and the groups tightened right up. Out of the MM they shoot better, also. My guess re: the Gold Tips, 75/95.

7595. I would MUCH rather deal with an arrow that' s slightly stiff than one that' s underspined. An underspined arrow can drive you crazy.

Like was mentioned above, the Bowtechs will like a stiffer shaft because of the speed they are putting out. I personally think the shorter bows also demand a stiffer spine because of the increased string angle.

Good luck.
