Sight in question
#5
Yeah, I have four pins on my 3D bow right now. Actually it's a Spot Hogg Hogg-It with 5 pins, but I removed the bottom one for the time being. So, answering your question? My first pin is set for 20 yards. There is so little difference in impact between 10 and 20 yards that a 10 yard pin is not really needed for any activity. It just clutters up the sight picture.

With todays bows you shouldnt need a 10 yd pin, just use the 20. Then set the rest up for your other distances however you prefer there are a lot of suggestions all over the forums for 3D etc. Use the extra pin to sight in for some novelty shoots, maybe have a 65 yd or something like that, just so that you can be in the ballpark when taking the shot, plus it will be at the bottom of the sight picture so wont interfere with your norm.

I highly suggest having a pin for eeach of your desired pins. If you have 4 pins, 10, 20, 30 and 40 will do fine. I bought a 5 pin trophy ridge and have distances starting at 10 to 50 yds. If I do purchase another I would probably go with a 4 pin.

With most bows you should be able to use your first pin sighted in at 20 yards and hit within an inch at 10 yards. My wifes bow is shooting 250fps roughly and she still hits dead on with her top pin at 10 or 20 yards.
