RE: Stringsplitter Peep

Well, I went for it and had the Mid sized string splitter put on my bow and just got to shoot it. I think I have a love hate relationship with it so far. I have to say I absolutely love the feild of view I have. The peep I had in there was just big enough to see my pins, but I could never really see my float bubble. With the splitter I get a full view and then some. I am able to line up the top of my sight to the top of the splitter and get a pretty consistent anchor. I shot out to 40 yards and was still grouping nicely, I did notice a 4 FPS loss, but out to 30 yards for hunting I think I can live with. I think I am going to have to give it some time to get use to. I am wondering if I should not have gone with the smaller version. Even the guy at the pro shop who installed it for me was bustin my chops, askin' why I didn't just cut then ends off a beer can and put that in my string. It is rather larger.

Yeah, like I said, I have the mini StringSplitter(the smallest one) and still have NO problem with field of view. I couldn't tell you if I lost any speed or not, since I have never had my bow chrono'd, but it is going plenty fast for me. I would like to get another one put in my backup bow, but just haven't gotten around to it.

With the utmost respect....has anyone thought of getting glasses or contacts???

My father has had the same issue for years. He keeps mentioning different gizmos and gadgets to increase his visibility of the pins, sight window, etc.

I told him to invest his money in a pair of glasses.

So at $150, he went out and bought a pair. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Depending on a person'e vision sometimes that's the beginning of the problems!;)

Although I agree if you need glasses it is best to get them.
