String supressors??

I am only asking because I don't know. Do the "Mean V" or STSstring supressors really make that much of a difference? I shoot a new Reflex Ridgeline 32. When I shoot it, I think I hear string noise. However, my buddies say my bow is pretty quiet. Is it normal to hear some string because I am so close to it as opposed to somebody or a deer who is at least 10 ft away? I have heardfolks debate overthe "Mean V" vs. STS & seen the Mean V web site. I am intruiged, but am wondering if it is just another gadget to buy & make my bow heavier. Any input would be great!

this has bugged me too. bow makers claim that it makes bows more quiet, and accurrate.

They do work. They help with both noise and vibraton. I have a Truth 2 that has two built in dampeners, and I like it a lot. I also have the original Truth bow, which I added an aftermarket stopper to. It does make it quieter and smoother. Recently I tried an 82nd Airborne with its built in string suppressor. I shot it both with the suppressor off and on. It was a night and day difference. Without it, the bow wantedtovibrate right out of myhand. With it, I could barely feel any vibration at all. I really think it is going to depend on the bow. Some bowsnaturally have very little vibration and are pretty quiet. It might be hard to tell a lot of difference on those bows. Other bows inherently have morevibration, andyou can noticeably tell a difference on those bows. I say they are worth it.

They definately do work very well. I have a CSS from meanv on mine, and it'll be standard equipment on every bow I own that doesn't come with one. It allows you to pick up some speed by taking the leeches off your string. It acts just like a finger on a guitar string.

As to the weight... its minimal... maybe3-4 ounces.

I have told people lots of times, String Suppressors are a great accessory because they work. Buy the one of your choosing and enjoy the benefits!;)

I have had several come by and shoot my bows with the MeanV installed, and I have yet to have anyone walk away without purchasing one.

This one is in HD Green. I have several patterns available.

Trust Dan, they work and his the best. I wouldn't set up a bow without one. They really do quieten down any bow. I placed one on my guardian, which is already crazy quiet and it now sounds like a someone shooting a blow gun...almost nothing.
