Before I go out and buy something I know nothing about. I need a straight answer. Im getting mixed answers on this. I want to go to carbon arrows because the price of steel keeps going up and aluminum arrows arent as cheap as they once were.
My draw is 30 inch
My aluminums are 28inch 2314'swith 100grain bh.
im drawing 55-60lbs

I was told to use a 400grain arrow with 100gr broadhead. Someone told me to use a 300 grain arrow and a 100grain broadhead. I need someone to give the right answer. I cant always make it to my proshop and I will not be getting them from there. I can get them cheaper elsewhere, I just need a straight answer. On the boxes I looked at with fletchings and inserts:

I dont not know what the numbers stand for? Is it their weight? LikeI said im no good at figuring this carbon stuff out.
First box:300
Second Box:340
Third Box:400

Oh and if I cant the right arrow in 28 inches will it hurt to got 29 inch?

I can get one hell of a deal right now but need the right answer ASAP. Help please.

340,or 400's at about 28" with 100 grain field point may be what you need,there should be someone with a program chime in soon.Ausie Guy ran numbers for me and some other folks and helped alot.340's may be a little stiff,the d/l is different than mine,other than that I would say 400 ICS/s!

First thing, the numbers on the box are not the weight in grains. Those numbers are the stiffness of the arrows, how much they deflect (or flex) when suspending a 2-pound weight in the middle of the shaft.

First box is 300 deflection, which means it flexes .300" and is the stiffest of the lot. Equivalent to a 2512 XX78.

Second box, 340, flexes .340" and is medium, equivalent to a 2315.

Third box flexes .400" and is the weakest of the lot, equal to a 2117.

Deflection for your 2314's is .390", just a tad stiffer than the 400's. You'd be okay to go with the 400's. 3-49 ACC's are an exact match for your 2314's at .390" deflection.

To get an approximate arrow weight, go to www.bowjacksion.com and use his arrow weight calculator. He's got lots of nifty tools for building hypothetical arrows on his site.

the longer the arrow the slower and more drop over a given distance, they will just cut them to your length anyways.

But shorter arrow with increased weight or higher FOC will drop also...just maintain kenetic energy for penetration.A heavier arrow will start slow and end slow but the speed won't shave off as fast as a rapid lite arrow.
