How this look?

My first attempt at fletching my ammo! Didn't really get much choice of colors but a real man ain't scared of the color choice! I am learning to like the Blazers!Same shop I bought these at looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned 100 grain brass inserts, needless to say they didn't have any! The man behind the counter said theres no such thing! I bet him the price of the new Drenaline behind him and he crawfished...since I just had 2 dozen put in shafts for me...thanks Ausie Guy!;)

Looks good RLoving1. I've also got a Victory. What kind of arrow setup do you have on that thing? I've got 28" Beman ICS Hunters with offset blazers and 100 gr tips. I'm debating going to 125's though.

RE: How this look?

Thats about the same setup on my arrows except they have 100 grain insert with 125 tips.I'm at 28d/l and 60 d/w,I didn't know what I needed and Ausie Gay (he's jealous the pink brings out my eye's) help me figure out what I needed! He built them for me and made some adjustments on the bow. They shoot and fly great!Nobody except a woman will steal these! Wait till I get the pink/purple string from Gibblet!:D

Do you happen to know what kind of speeds you're shooting with that setup?

He should be around the 240 - 245fps mark.

We did crono it at the shop but the crono decided it did not want to play.

If you don't mind me asking what's the advantage in adding that much weight? BTW those are some very pretty arrows. Maybe you could find some wraps with cute puppies and teddy bears on them.:D

Better stability which leads to better arrow flight, more penetration, less wind drift, more momentium down range not to mention the arrow will absorb more of the bows power that would have been transfeered through the limbs into the riser causing vibration/hand shock andthe bow will bequiter.

I am sure I forgot a couple of things but I think you get the drift:D

More stupid questions. What's the difference between adding weight versus using a heavier arrow? Are you just adding the weight so that you don't have to buy more arrows or do they perform better with the weight? Does it shoot any flatter or penetrate deeper than a heavier shaft that has the same total weight? I know that my bow is slow to start with, 245 fps with 370 grain arrows butwhen I use arrows that weigh just 50 grains more I can really see them slow down considerably and they hit 4-5 inches lower at 30 yards.

Keep it up Rev between you and centaur I'm just cracking up![:@]You noticed I happened to have forgot the camera while you were roping my arrow? But I do have one incrimanting photo of you and Ausie! I was shooting at 60 yards when that faux pas happened...man those things carry along way! Hey Centaur if you find some Hello Kitty wraps I'd put them on...pink vanes,pink/purple string,Hello Kitty wraps...I'd have to pay someone to shoot with me!:DHere's what I was aiming at when the arrow to hard downward turn!

Here's the other two archers...doing better than I was doing...obviously,they didn't shank one as bad! Hold it The Rev did shank one now I think about it! The Rev is the older gent wearing the Guido jogging suit, the other charactor is arrow builder and advice giver 1st class Ausi Guy!

The weight out on the end is different than weight over full length! After the release and flight is attained think of it like a chain...easier to pull a chain than push it,maybe slower but the weight forward or any heavy projectile maintains speed better over distance than lite and fast!I deal with firearms more than bows and I learned this recently...same principle to both, thanks to Ausie I'm learning this!;)

You got my curiousity up, I'm going to try some 125 grain tips and see what happens.

Centaur.

If your using 100gr points now going to 125gr point you will probably not see a difference.

The arrows I made up for RowellIdesigned themfor the 100gr brass insert and 125gr headso the spine was perfect.

Plus I dare say your current arrows are alreadyon the weak side spine wise.

You wont see a big difference untill you get the FOC above 19%

where do you buy 100gr brass inserts from or were they custom made for you,as I would'nt mine buying some for myself.

RE: How this look?

I was wondering about the spine of my arrows. I don't have a scale so I don't know what poundage I'm actually pulling, I'm halfway backed out so I assume it's about 65#. The Gold Tip chart puts me right in the middle of the 400spine range. My arrows seem to wobble slightly when I shoot but they hit where I aim. I started fletching with four blazers and it seemed to straighten out the wobble.

RE: How this look?

Nice fletching color choice! Mine are the same except 2 white 1 pink. Fletched hard right helical.:D They shoot very well. My arrows weigh about 402 grains. And my bow should be spitting those you at about 270 fps.:)

What shafts are you shooting out of curiosity?

Thankyou wtbh! At least there's 2 of us who aren't quite as homophobic!:)I ain't a homo just all females hate me...but Ausie thinks I have pretty eye's!;) Sounds like your draw is right at the breaking point for spine choice Centaur. This may be where a correct arrow build helps,I shot a epic 400@29" length at 60 yards and the tail end of it corkscrewed about 36" circle, the arrows Ausie built ached but they darn sure flew true! The arrows Ausie built are ICS 400 cut at 28 for one bow and 27 3/4 for the other. The cute pink ones are some misc. ICS 400 and Venture 340 at 29" that I just practice with here in the yard, they are stockers other than the blazers, and that has improved the flight with 100 grain field points.I need to get some more 100 gr inserts and trim these down, stock config they hit about 3" higher than the custom builds. The heavy arrows penetrate bag target about 3" deeper at same range!

RE: How this look?

LOL I ain't a Homo either. I when with those colors because it is easier to distinguish which arrows are mine.:D And my current target arrows are 2 pink 1 yellow lol and now this other guy that shoots at the range got 2 yellow 1 pink:D. lol I guess after someone started using pink the others aren't as afraid of it. Oh almost forgot this one guy shoots 2 green 1 pink. We always make fun of him and cause it looks like watermelon.:D A few other guys are starting to use pink also! everyone seems to use about the same color of fletching arround here so I keep changing to different color and they like it so they change also.[:@]
