Ok..well I used to shoot my bow with hands open!

Well I got my new Pearson A Week or so ago...just fianlly got it sighted in and I'm shooting it with hands closed.

Well I have never grouped so good and got my first robin hood!

Should I leave my hands closed or open??

Because the open hand can induce torque when it isn't relaxed, you can close your hand and it still be relaxed and not torquing the bow.

A stiff open hand is just as bad as a stiff closed hand.

What you should be doing is letting the bow pull into your hand and let your fingers be completely limp. Like someone injectedlidocane in your fingers to numb them.

Chasebaker, what you need to do is send that picture into mythbusters on the discoverychannel b/c they had an episode i saw recently where they "busted" the "myth" that it is possible to "split" an arrow lol! i thought it was hilarious but it also kinda made me mad too b/c i know quite a few people who have done it multiple times.
