what pin size does everyone prefer and why, I pondering getting a new sight with .019 instead of .029. Was kind concerned about brightness.

I changed to 19's so I could go 20-30-40-50-60 yrds.....the 29's were fine for 20-30-40 but pst that coverd to much of the target and as far as brightness goes I hvent noticed any differance yet....

i moved from the .029 to the .019 this year, and have not seen a huge different in brightness. get the LED if you do have an issue.

Well I have noticed that if the fibers are really good quality the .029's tend to have a glow that makes them seem larger and block the target out at far distances. I prefer the .019's personally. The sight I experienced the glow effect was a Vital Gear Star Track.I would say look at them and find what you like the best.

.019 here. My eyes have suffered some bad injuries; consequently, I now see the .019's as the size most of you probably see .029's, with fuzzy edges. Having them lit, indoors, helps quite a bit.

Replace your stock 0.019" fibers with 0.019" LD FitzFibers and they will be considerably brighter. You will be amazed.

For me i went to .019 years ago when they first came out, the smaller the pin the tighter the groups, as said previosly 029's cover more of the target at farther distances but it also does it at closer distances......It's Bigger

I just ordered two brand-new Spot Hoggs last week...

the Hogg-It for 3d will have four pins in .10

The Hunter Hogg-It has four pins wit the top one being .19, and the last three .10.

I figure the top one in .19 will allow it to gather light more efficiently and I'll be able to see it better at dusk, and I'll have a pin I can use as darkness closes in around me.

I totally agree if you go with 7 pin. If you go with 5, I suggest the first 3-4 .19 and the 5th at .10. I have the Hunter with all at .19 but when I shoot past 50 yards at a target, I wish I had the .10's!
