Default Hoyt Katera "fuse" string suppressors

I bought the new Katera, now im wondering why it only has one string suppressor and its at the bottom, it appears all bows from the factory are like this? But the hoyt website has a suppressor at the top and bottom. WIll this throw off the tuning of my bow with the string not being balanced???

Should have had 2, my Kobalt did. My guess is either the factory forgot one as they were assembling the bow or it fell out as the your dealer was installing the peep and just didnt notice or didn't care. I would go back to your dealer and explain the problem, and if he is a good honest dealer, he should take care of it for you.

Well, as far as your qeustion, no as long as you tune it with the one then it will be fine. Thats my opinion anyway.

The Katera's and most of Hoyt's bows this year only ship with one string shox. It's pretty cheesy if you ask me. I noticed this with the first shipment of bows. There is a little note in the box that states because of how quiet the bows are they only need one.

My 2008 Hoyt Avenger had two installed however I did notice in the new Hoyt catalogs that there was only one on some of the higher end bows.

In all honesty, witha STS you may really only need one on the top, and on a shorter a-to-a bow, there may not even be much room to slide one in on top. TFOX may be a good person to throw a couple pennies at this one though.

Whether it needed them or not, I think it was a dumb move to only put one in. It made them look cheap and made alot of people question the quality coming out of Hoyt. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against Hoyt, I still shoot them from time to time, but it didn't look good as far as a marketing thing goes.
