Default Carbon spine Question

Is it Ok to shoot an arrow that is spinded heavier than what you need. My dad shoots 55lbs and wants to shoot beman carbon hunters that are spined for a 70lb bow. The reason that he is doing this is he wants a heavier arrow weight. I dont see any issues in doing this but wanted some opinions thanks

I have done this without any ill affect. Shot some 28" 340 series arrows out of a 55lb. bow in the past - they actually shot pretty well. In theory, they will want to hit to the left of where a properly spined arrow hits - and underspined arrows will want to hit to the right. I would be more afraid of shooting underspined shafts than overspined.

It is much better to be slightly overspined than under......TOO overspined isn't good though.

Well if they are overspined you may not get the accuracy needed. If all he wants is more arrow weight then you can buy heavy carbon arrows called "Grizzly Stiks", or you can put weight tubes in your shafts. You can also get brass inserts and a heavy broadhead.
