Hi all Ihave been shooting a Hoyt havoc with the xt2000 limbs and want to get a new bow. Here's the deal . I've been told that being tall with a 31 inch draw length that I should get a bow with a longer ata than my current bow( it is about 33 inches I believe). I have tied bowtech's commander but boy it just seems really long.and I don't know where to turn. I've heardthe Katera XL is a good bow and really like bowtech bows . Is it true that I should stay longer or is this not true? I hear great things about the guardian and general but have shyed away due to the shorter ata on these bows. I'am dying to get a new bow but am confused on what direction to go!!! Please give me some help Thanks

Well the longer your draw the more pinch you have at the anchor/release point. You can overcome much of that with a string loop and some brass nock sets but the pinch is still there. Bowtech has the Airbornes at 36" ATA which is a great ATA if you ask me. I've always ordered my Hoyts which offered 36" ata bows, and my Bowtech Allegiance is my first short ATA bow at 33". I believe you'll be great at 36" ATA with a string loop and a 31" draw. If you want to go shorter ATA, again, a sting loop and brass nock sets to avoid the pinch.

I agree that you need a longer bow and any change feels strange at first but you will be the one to benefit from it in the long run.
At your draw length,a 36" would be the shortest I would recommend.
That is what I am shooting at 28" draw.
