I am a tinkerer when it comes to broadheads. My last stint involved the Vortex 2in. cut. I never really liked mecanicals because they never gave a good entrance hole. But these Vortex give a great entrance hole and an even bigger exit hole. The way the blades are set they cut on impact, begining as one inch across, going to two very quickly. I usually use a 4 blade Muzzy, one inch cutting diameter. But I am beginning to feel with the power todays bows are putting out, a hugh mecanical on a thin skinned animal like a deer is in my opinion a great combination. I used a Vortex on a doe on Monday, and I think it is going to be my blade of choice for next season. I was always a fixed head fan, but I am also a fan of large entry an exit holes in case of a less than perfect shot.

the one vortex head I tested proved to be very good. It was accurate strong and opend well. If you have enough KE I think they would be a good choice for deer.
