Default Does an STS=no need for string silencers.

If you have a properly working STS device are string silencers just overkill?

In some cases yes in others no.

It really depends on how quiet your bow is to begin with.

If it sounds like a shot gun going off use the STS and string silencers

I think most guys that use my MeanV String Suppressor do not use string silencers, but then I wouldn't trade a few fps if there was any increase in noise. I like Quiet!

I have one of Dan's Meanv suppressors on my Ross 334 and it definitely quiets the bow, but I still need cat whiskers to make it absolutely silent. This combo on my bow is awesome.

Thanks!! Glad you like itI've still got my String Jax on mine too. I won't trade any silence for a couple of fps

If you take a close look at the new Hoyt catalog you'll notice that most of new bows only have one string silencer(on the bottom).

My bows are quieter with one jax on top with the STS.

My Patriot is noweasily quieter than my Tribute with this set-up.

I don't use string silencers on my Guardian with Dan's MeanV. It super quiet. Get one you won't regret it.

I have the MeanV on my Tribute. It was quiet before and now it's deadly silent. I kept the string silencers on but with the MeanV you do not need anything on the sting. I'd like to get one for my Equalizer but due to my possible deployment I have to hold off.
