Default Carbon Tech Arrows

I have had such trouble with Carbon Express CX Edge's, Iam ready to switch again. I am thinking of trying Carbon Tech's. I would love to try thier whitetails XP, but only come in limited spine of .300" and .400". I need something like .35 or .34". Only other option is the Panther's tapered shaft.

what is it about carbon tech that they can't make a .35" shaft. I bet most of us shooting 70lb bows need a .34" shaft.

I don't know why they don't make something in the .34 range but you could always increase your tip weight and/orshaft lengthand go with the .300. That is what I did. You can either use a heavy broadhead or use the 100 or 50 gr brass inserts. I really like my whitetail xp's. I have had only 1 out of 18 be a tiny bit crooked and got rid of that when I cut and inch off of one end.

Could also go the other way -if light weight and speed is the reason you want these arrows in the first place. Go with the 400 series, use 75 grain heads, and cut them as short as your arrow rest will allow. I know that, with the WB, I can safely shoot arrows as short as 27.5" even though my draw length is 29.25".

I too quit using Carbon Express due to splintering. I wentto Beaman ICS hunters 340 spine cut 28 inches with 220 grain Muzzy Phantoms FOC 21 %. Awesome for hunting. I also use the Beaman for 3D. So far no complaints.

Nope, I really want at least a 430gr arrow.

You know actually I was looking at some charts. And for my 70# bow binary cam'd, and 29.5" draw, I believe I can get away with .3" spine if I have them cut at 30" instead of 29", and use 125gr broadhead. Anyone care to run some numbers on ontarget2 for me?

Bow I am running this for is
Bowtech commander 70#
37" ATA
7.5" BH

Arrows, I am looking at is whitetail XP 65/80 at 30".

I just ran the numbers on AA and if you go for the CX Edge 350 cut the shaft to 29.75" (thats without the nock) with a 125gr head 3x2" blazers you are dead nuts in the middle of the green for optium spine with a FOC of 13% estimated arrow weight of 472gr's and estimated arrow speed of 257.

Ausie, right now, I shoot CX Edge 350s at 29" with 100 gr head, and its showing up a little weak long range 50yard broadhead tuning.I might be able to microtune the rest some.

I just ordered ontarget2 CD's, I might look into AA too. Thanks for running the numbers for me

bowdoc, for some reason, it lists the CarbonTech Whitetail XP at .34" spine. But according to carbon tech, its 0.3" spined?
