I bought a Hoyt Trykon less than a year ago when i decided to get into bowhuning. No one in my family bowhunts so i get no advice. The archery store just said keep your bowstring waxed. What all should i be doing for proper care and stuff for my bow to get the best out of it?

Well first I would download the Easton Tuning And Maintanence Giude at their website. It will tell you all you need to know. I use it when setting up every bow and have it printed off as a referance, for anything I need to do.

Regularly check the ata, brace height and nock position. Hopefully you wrote this down when you had it tuned perfectly and can periodically compare these stats to the original. This way, you'll know if your string or cable have moved. String and cable replacement every year or two should be considered normal maintenance. You do not want a string to break at full draw - trust me.

Whenever the bow gets damp, wipe it down and do not store it in a case until it's dry. Metal that is not aluminum or stainless will rust very quickly if you do (most of the set screws and bolts.
