Default My Tribute has been restrung thanks to Gibblet (AKA Bucknasty)

When it comes time for replacement strings be sure to consider our very own Gibblet for the job.

He once again turned out perfection for my Tribute.

I ended up going with 452x in a flo green speckled and chocolate color scheme with black halo serving to match the stock camo on the Tribute.

The overall quality of the string is superb with the serving and end loops looking flawless.

One word of caution, trust his lengths. When I unloaded the cables I measured them and decided to take a few twist out before installing, long story short- I ended up back where he had them from the get go. After the bow was strung up it only took 3 trips back to the press to get the timing right.

Another note- his string loop material doesn’t stretch near as much as I’m used to- hence the small loop on the string. I might have to tie another before deer season if that one doesn’t open up.

When all was complete I ended up with the same exact speed as the stock strings.
Which was fine by me, anything but a loss is good in my book.

For those binary shooters I gained 9 fps after adding the speed nocks. I didn’t think they made that much off a difference, but sure enough I went from 266 before to 275 after speed nock installation. I even added a few more nocks but in the end, 4 on bottom and 3 on top + the bow jax provided the most gain.

Here are some pics, enjoy!

2006 Tribute
29” draw
Smooth cams
61#
DZ rest
HHA 5519 .019” pin
No-peep
String loop
STS

385 gr arrow = 275 (the one I hunt with)
401 gr arrow= 269

Hey dave what is that on the back of your sight above you DZ? Is it some sort of peep eliminator?

Yes, it is where I chose to mount my No-peep.

Some mount in front of the riser, others behind, some above, some below.

The no peep is a pretty neat gadget , some like it ( I do) some do not.

its weird dave, this new machine takes the pieces as tight as i want, but doesn't stress the end loops like the last one. it also doesn't rattle and shake when i'm using it LOL> don at htm just really does nice work.

Nice looking setup you got there Dave. Gib's strings turned out beautifully once again. I still have my stock Tribby strings on mine. I'm thinking I'm good for another year.

BTW: My new limbs and cams came in. Definitely notice a difference.

Good luck this season!

I know who I'll be contacting when the Tribute needs a new string.

ahhhh you had to go and post that!! here i am...checking the mail and chasing the ups trucks all day for the last week waiting on my string(guessing he ships by USPS...but i always chase the brown trucks ) and you go and post your set!! i cant wait....maaaaaaybe tomarrow...

good lookin string....i just might have to throw some speed nocks on my new string...they are on there from the factory...i should measure where they are from the cams so i can put them back in the same spot...i will see how it does without them...but i went to a different arrow thats 100 grains heavier so im going to loose what little speed i had lol...gunna be silent but deadly though

Ducsauce, that's good news, glad to hear it worked out for ya.

Ausie-guy- I just call em as I see em. If his head swells too much he’ll have to change his nock points and lower his draw length- I’m sure he wouldn’t want that[8D]. I thanks for the compliment.

Mauser, too funny chasing the UPS truck.
Reminds me of an old funny story I endured in my younger years-

I was living with my brother and his roommateright afterI got out of the Coast Guard. I was waiting on a package much like you were with high anticipation. It was either a hunting item from bass-pro/cabelas or a sport bike item from Dennis Kirk (don’t remember which).
Well one day I hear the door bell ring and by the time I make it to the front door the big brown truck is halfway down the street. I see my prized possession fading off into the sunset so I hop on my mountain bike and give chase. I finally catch up to him a few streets over and was sweating like a marathon runner and completely out of breath. I tell him where I live and request my package with ahopeful grin only a gadget freak would understand- he looks at me kinda odd and hands it over, I sign and off to gadget bliss I head. Once I get home I rip it open only to find PORN VHS tapes staring at me[]. WHAT THE HECK? I look at the address label and it has the roommates name on it. Oops, great. Now this was back before the net & pay per view so you only get porn a handful of ways and this was one of them so I’m sure the mail & UPS folks know what’s inside by just looking at the wrapper and return adress.
It was then I realized why the UPS driver looked at me so odd. In his eyes he just handed some PORN to a porn addict so hell bent on getting his solo groove on he chased him down the street for it.

Gibblet- Back to strings & speed nocks- A while back you were recommending some sort of heat shrink liquid on top of the speed nocks. Does this recommendation still stand?
Does the liquid heat shrink stand up to the abuse of 1000’s of shots?
