RE: Arrow wraps to increase FOC
3gr/inch weight tubes--cut a 3-4" piece and glue it up front(inside of shaft)

RE: Arrow wraps to increase FOC
I appreciate the other suggestions, but I already know of many ways to increase tip weight. I was specifically wondering about arrow wraps, and their durability. On the surface, it seems like a quick, easy way to make small adjustments, thus my curiosity.

RE: Arrow wraps to increase FOC
I would think you would wear them out fast. But I would get some cheep ones and try. Go to ebay and pick up some cheep ones. Let us know how it works.

RE: Arrow wraps to increase FOC
I don't think they would hold up well at all. In fact I would think they would weld themselves to a 3D target and pull right off of your arrow. Stopping and arrow in foam or a bag for that matter causes a lot of heat to built up. The heat would melt the wraps and the glue that holds them on. JMO
I would reccomend finding another way to add weight. Try one and let us know what happens!:) |
RE: Arrow wraps to increase FOC
I shot an arrow with a full length wrap for a while and it showed little wear from my bag target but it really didn't get shot alot.
If you practice in with a bag target you probably will be fine but if you have a 3-d or layered target,i would think it would wear them out quickly. You may want to buy some decal material and make your own and they would be quickly and easily replaced for just pennies.I go to a sign maker and get mine. I know you want alot of weight so look into the reflective decal material, the kind the police car decals are made of.It weighs 3 times as much as the regular and should be right up your alley.;) |
RE: Arrow wraps to increase FOC
ORIGINAL: YooperMike Actually, the maximas aren't really wrapped, it is part of the arrow itself, not like a stick-on wrap. I think they would get beat up real quick shooting them into targets. Easiest way to get more FOC is a heavier head. If you are using 100 grains, go to 125 and problem solved. A regular wrap probably wouldn't last too long and would get welded to the target. However, if you used the lubricating oiland a GT tip that flares out the wraps may survive for a while. |
