Anyone else notice their cables wearing the groove in the cable slide longer? Specially the rear one. I have had mine about a little over a month and I can see my rear cable cutting into the end of the groove on my slide. If it keeps this up it could weaken the teflon and break out the whole side. Just wondering if some of you have shot yours a lot and are noticing the same thing or is it just me?

I was out today and say two small grooves on the cable slide, so there is some wear on mine. I'm going to upgrade. A question though, since I've never changed a cable slide, is this something you need to do with a press or can you change it without one? Also, will it change my current tuning process? Thanks for bringing this to my attention...

Kelly you don't need a press to change the slide on the Guardian. Although there are several good aftermarket slides out there. The one I like best is the Saunders Hyper Glide Slide, very smooth, and it will give you a tad more clearance also.

I put the Hyper Slide on last weekend. That thing is sweeeet. I like the rounded edges, no worries about cable wear here.
I did have to adjust my sights to the left a little, but still in tune. Plus I have tons of vane clearence now. No longer an issue.

By all means, go with the Saunders Hyper Glide Slide. I had a slight
clearance problem with both the Guardian and Commander with the
Blazer Vanes and the Hyper Glide solved it. Really simple solution and
a much better than original slide. Good luck.

I looked at my mine yesterday and it too had grooves in it. I guess im going to order a hyper slide, but are they really worth the money?
