I'm going to slightly hi-jack the thread by asking a question:

I'm looking at a new bow. DAAANNGG the prices have gone up since I last shopped around (1999-2000) so now I'm looking at "last-years" models and used. The older hoyt's (last few years) risers are already drilled for an STS/MeanV, correct? If so it might make me look a little harder at the hoyt line-up...cause honestly I'm pretty nuetral when it comes to brands.
No,older Hoyts are not drilled already.

I was the same way untill I had a string change and the vibration was more than I liked and I hate string silencers.A friend of mine had one so I tried it.It was a huge difference.

Soilarch,

Thread hijacked. Top of the line bow is now about $750 (Drenalin, Guardin, Vectrix). Taking out conservative inflation of 2.5% for the last 7 years = comparable price of $618.75. There are also more choices now. Everything has gone up in last 7 to 8 years. Look at pistols! (but that also has to do with lawsuits, price of raw materials, gun legislation requiring locks, testing, etc.).

Just sayin ;)
