G5 makes one w/ an enclosed light.....Unreal, just like you flipped on a light switch....Hm, maybe that's because you did....[&:]

Electronics on bows and arrows are illegal in Washington, so I chose a sight that is naturally bright.

Montana Black Gold Flashpoint.

The only light in the picture is coming from the television.

The Truglow Tru Site Xtreme Pro Series would be a great sight for what you are looking for.Very bright pins with tooless adjustments for sighting in.Also with markings for elevation and windage for only $55.00 through Lancasters. www.lancasterarchery.com The pins are .029 and that is about right for hunting.

I prefer that my pins NOT be that bright because of the halo the bright pins create but in an actuall hunting situation it isn't a problem.

OH ALRIGHT THANKS GUYS OVER HERE IN TEXAS WE DONT REALLY HAVE ANY LAWS......BUT THAT TRUGLO IS WHAT I HAD IN MIND BECAUSE SOME NIGHTS I WOULD LIKE TO SETUP MY GROUND BLIND AND SEE I IF I CAN GET ME A FULL MOON HOG WITHOUT SHINING A LIGHT AND MAYBE SCAERING THEM AND TRUGLO SEEMED LIKE IT HAD WHAT I NEEDED I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF ANY OF YALL KNOW OF A BETTER SIGHT OR A CHEAPER ONE.....BUT FOR 55 BUCKS YOU CANT BEAT IT UNLESS THERE IS A BETTER ONE BUT TFOX WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY LEAVE A HALO .........

TFOX 03-26-2007 06:29 PM

RE: best sight for night or low light cond....

Truglow has even cheaper onesthat are very good.

The halo I am referring too is the pin actually looks bigger than it is because the light it gathers and it doesn't give you a defined edge but rather it is kinda blurry around the edges,You will rarely see bright pins on an outdoor target rig for this reason.

Oh yea, check your game laws, all states have laws and most have laws against hunting at night.I would think hog hunting at night would be kinda dangerous but I don't hunt them so I can't say for sure.

the kidd 03-26-2007 06:37 PM

RE: best sight for night or low light cond....

NO BEEN DOIN IT FOR YEARS AND ALREADY CHECKED IT OUT LOTS OF PEOPLE HUNT HOGS AT NIGHT YOU COULD EVEN PUT A LIGHT UNDER THE FEEDER AND GET THE HOGS THAT WAY BUT IT IS ONLY FOR HOGS NO DEER OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT UNLESS ITS A COON OR PORCUPINE ...SO DO YOU THINK THAT PIN HALO WILL MAKE THE SSIGHT NO USEFULL OR ARE YOU ONLY TALKIN ABOUT WHEN YOU TURN ON THE LIGHT

Kidd, black an gold sights are my pick.

RE: best sight for night or low light cond....

I chose the Black Gold Flash Point because I could see the pins the better than any other sight from across the counter (at the bow shop). Also, they have a UV suppressor that attenuates UV in bright conditions so the fibers don't absorb too much light energy, thus eliminating the afore mentinoed halo effect. It is a very nice sight. The previous picture in this thread tells almost the whole story!

A couple of the guys in our club has the Montana Black GOld Flashpoint and absolutely love it. Also just a little over a month ago they were down in Texas hunting hogs with it. Very good sight , not sure what the costs of them is though.

The Flashpoint is the sight I posted a picture of on page one. The only light in the room came from the television.

I picked mine up for $99.99.

I actually didn't care much for the Tru-Glo Brite Site Extremes for low-light, as I don't think the "site-light" is overly good. I just got a Cobra Sidewinder, and it is REALLY bright during daytime, not sure how it will be at low-light, but in the daytime, it is considerably brighter than either of the 2 Tru-Glo's I have.

No.

There is no option for a light with this sight; however, if there is enough light available that you can see your target, I can almost garauntee you that you will be able to see your pins.

I'll be quite honest with you, the Sidewinder isn't noisy at all on my bow, not sure why yours is, but the pins are the BRIGHTEST I've seen on the one I got, with at least 2 FEET of Fiber for each pin. I assure you that a Tru-Glo isn't nearly as bright without the light, and I don't really think the light helps much. A TFO Glow-in-the-dark pin works though, but as WA-Hunter said, often times, if you can't see the pins, you can't see the animal either. Don't expect anything to be like Night Vision, because that just ain't gonna happen.

I have a fuse sight and was surprised on how bright the pins were in both light conditions! This is without a light and just coil!!

The Eradicator has tritium dots that can be seen in total darkness.
Not a handsome and elegant sight butit's probably the most rugged ever made.

no sight is goin to be night vision....i have hunted at night with the sife winder and i can see the 10 yd pin ok but the 20 yd i cant ...and i hunt at night in a ground blind so no light goes in and that dont help any that why i want a bright sight...but you know what i checked my pins rite now and i didnt even notice that they have two kinks in the coil..[:@] i never even noticed that.......its like the pins light is all coming out through there...and about the noise check out some of my videos at huntingfootage.com they are under misc...videos and the look for videos made by the kidd its on the first page i have about 3 videos on that page...and then now that i looked again i found out that i am missing a screw that holds that plastic cover in place..that could be the prob of the noise ...

I have a truglo moveable tritium pin rover sight. works great and no light needed so you don't get the halo effect from all the other lighted pin sights. works great for hunting at night for them hogs. just my 2 cents. a reasonably priced sight. has a glow in the dark sight tape too but I leave mine set at 20 yards since most shots are going to be close. just aim a little high or low. oops forgot, has a glow in the dark ring on the housing also.
