Ive shot a whisker bsqt for 6 years now. I have vertually elliminated the fletching damage by applying a little super glue at the leading edge of the vane. Now this may sound a lil bit off the wall, but i lube my WB with a silicone spray to reduce friction and drag, which also helps in not tearing up my 4" vanes. Crazy, but it works! It drys so there's nor residue or anything.

That superglue trick sounds very good, I'll try that too.....
I use Armourall on my arrows and fletching..... dries nice, no residue... slick as snot on my upper lip!

I haven't known anyone that actually shot the WB that didn't trim it. It's just way to thick, not to.
