arrow opinions
I am replacing my goldtips and I was thinking of trying Beman ICS Hunters or Easton Lightspeeds, does anybody use either of these? I would like to hear your results if so.

RE: arrow opinions
Personally I would stick with the gold tips. I used the ics hunters for a while and honestly I think that they may actually lose their straightness after a while. I know im probably gonna get flamed for that but I truly do believe that it happened. I know the saying is that carbon is either broke or straight but i dont believe it to be true, not in the long run that is. Gold tips are the best carbon arrow ive ever shot. Used the same arrows for 2 years. They were abused too. A few robin hoods and nocks were busted off many times. JMO that the gold tips are a more durable shaft.

RE: arrow opinions
Not a fan of the ICS Hunters either.....That finish makes for poor vane adhesion...
The Lightspeeds are good arrows though. |
RE: arrow opinions
Thanks guys, I guess I'll cross the ICS off the list. I'm only changing brands because I'm tired of waiting for goldtips to get in stock. You can't find them anywhere around here.

RE: arrow opinions
You can definately shoot the spine out of a carbonarrow after a while.I would not choose the Beman's either.
|
RE: arrow opinions
I understand what you mean about Gold Tip.....We can't get any either....Check out Carbon Express...
|
RE: arrow opinions
I agree about the Carbon Express. I have been really impressed with the Maxima shafts. They are as tough or tougher than anything else out there and they fly great.
|
RE: arrow opinions
I second the Carbon Express suggestion.
|
RE: arrow opinions
CE Maximas are the best carbon that I have ever shot and I think that I like them better than the ACCs I used to shoot.
Just my .02 cents. |
RE: arrow opinions
I will be upgrading from the CX 300 to the Maxima, once the season ends here in MD.
Is there a big difference in the way the Maxima and the Maxima Hunter shoot? |
RE: arrow opinions
No, but the Hunter is heavier w/ it's weight forward design. It's camo starts about....6" from the nock, so the nock end is lighter.
|
RE: arrow opinions
As the other have mentioned, I personally wouldn't choose the Eastons or the Bemans that you mentioned. I believe Carbon Express to be the top choice!
|
RE: arrow opinions
Sounds like everybody likes the maxima hunters. Don't they have a crossweave finish? Are they quiet when drawn back through a wisker biscuit?
|
RE: arrow opinions
I also use the Carbon Express Maxima. I switched to them this year. I don't use a whisker biscuit so I don't know how it would sound in it, but they didn't make any more noise than my previous arrrow.

RE: arrow opinions
I used the GT XT Hunters for several years and found them to be quite good. Just bought and used the new Maxima Hunter 350's this year and they seem to be very sturdy. Two does, a 9 pt buck, a missed turkeyand no damage to the arrows. Of course any arrow is much more accurate than I am but I do like the FOC Maxima Hunter's.

RE: arrow opinions
I use the Maximas with a whisker biscuit and haven't been disappointed. It works fine. I am sure the hunters would be a bit quieter in the biscuit because of the camo.

RE: arrow opinions
What about Carbon Express Terminator Lights? They are the same weight as my Goldtips.
|
RE: arrow opinions
Pretty good arrows. Comparible to both the Gold Tip XT Hunter and Easton Excell...
|
RE: arrow opinions
I switched to the Maxima Hunters this year. I don't shoot a bisquit but they didn't make any noise going clean thru the 2 deer I shot with them thie year.
|
RE: arrow opinions
well i shot beman hunters and i love them. I have been shooting them for abouta year and have loved them since i have had them. But now i shot easton epic 400. I like them just as much and they shot about the same.
