Box knives have a tendency to knick and peel the carbon fibers.
That's why I don't like them... even though I started with them like everyone else. Spend the $20 or so and get a Norway Zip Strip. You'll be glad ya did.

Strippers are definitely the way to go.

But then again, I am sometimes lazy and just can't bring myself to buying the $20 tool.

But then again, screw up a few arrows and you just could havebought yourself the tool.

Don't let the wife find out, though.

I just use a dull swiss army knife to scrape. I scrape it good once, rub it with a papertowel soaked in acetone, runs sandpaper over it quickly, wipe once more with the acetone and its usually good then.

Madjac: She was standing behind me when I wrote it. She was less than impressed.

RJ: That is exactly what I do. What grit sandpaper do you use? I am currently using 220. I find it harsh enough to get some of the stubborn glue off but not too harsh to mess up the carbon on the shaft.

I think it's about a 220.......I bought it a long time ago and it doesn't say on the back. The package the sheets came in is long gone. I find the sandpaper helps the glue bond as well...........

Yeah, it definitely roughs the surface up just enough to help bonding.

Ohh and btw, congrats. I just saw your signature. I know you had been working towards that.

Bols: Didn’t mean to offend anyone, hope your wife (and anyone else) will accept my humble apology.
