Do you guys also hate API cause you cant watch a tv show with out their commercials.Do you also hate Realtree camo? cause again thats all you see on tv and magz. Why everybody hung up on their ads?Seems like if thats your only complaint then get real. This world is full of in your face advertising. hogdaddy as far as rep. at the worlds the shooters are the reps. Why does that bug you? I would like a rep that shoots bows on a regular basis than a guy behind a desk all day.

RE: So why don't you guys like Mathews?
When buying a new bow, I look at EVERYTHING. What does THIS bow have to offer? I really like Mathews bow, but they didn't have a bow that I liked in a 31"+ draw. I also didn't like the grip. Some LIKE the grip, and most have a shorter draw. The bow I ended up getting was an Alpine Stealth Force. Good ATA, decent brace, quiet, good speed, 31" draw, and a grip I really like (even if a bit cold). Add to that an inovative limb mount system and bearings in the cam as well as the idler (most just do the idler), and wide groove string tracks (at the time they were the only ones I knew of doing that) and I found MY bow.
Sometimes, I wish I could just do it like my little brother. GO to the biggest pro shop, have them bring you EVERY bow that fits you, and at least pull them all back (test shoot if you can)...and DO NOT tell him the price.
Ended up walking out with one of the least expensive bows they had for him! AND he shoots it VERY well indeed.
There are 2 reasons NOT to like MAthews...NEITHER has a darn thing to do with their bows. People hate the braggart advertizing, and people seem to hate who ever is number 1 at the time (If only in sales).
Mathews makes a FINE bow, and from what I have heard, they stand behind them as well.

For me it was pretty simple, I don't like the way Mathews feel in my hands and I bought a Hoyt because I love the grip. some people think its too small. Others, like me, think it's perfect. Archery is such a mental game and FEEL is a major part of that.
Hey, has anyone else heard the rumor that Mathews is bringing out a new line of bows at the SHOT show in January that will be wearing a "TEC" type riser very similar to Hoyt's? Now that would be interesting wouldn't it?

I dont care for Mathews for two reasons. First , they dont make a double cam , second , I cant stand their grips. As soon as they start making a double cam I'll be happy to get one. I can always get a custom grip.
I dont understand the price issue<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle> Mathews isn't any higher priced than Hoyt or PSE. They all have their higher end bows and less expensive bows.

I think the guys that don't like Mathews are just confused.
Just kidding<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>, I can't agree more with on of the previous post. Personal preference drives us, thank god for individuality or we would be some boring fools. I guarantee you if you believe in what you shoot you'll be a good shooter. There are very few of us that have the ability to out perform our bows potential. I think that's why we all practice.
Good luck on your seach, just don't be confused.

I think Mathews makes a great bow but when it came time for me to buy a new bow this year I bought a CSS. The reason I bought a CSS is they are just trouble free. I have never seen them need anything other than normal maintenance like strings and cables. It is the smoothest and quietest bow I have ever owned and I have owned 9 differant brands with Mathews included in them.

My Mathews dealer cant keep enough Legacy in stock. I love mine and say Im out of hunting bow market. This is what I have been looking for twenty years. Just go shoot Legacy and see why it is such a good seller and why Legay owners love them. Mathews supports pro shooters better than any other company and that accounts for something to me. Seems lots of companys have stopped helping and sponsering shooters. Your not far from Okla. Mathew Legacy sells for $529.00 here from my dealer. Good Luck!
