Why can't bow manufacturers speed rate there bows in real world conditions these days...And be a little more honest with the other specs as well???
You expect honesty from marketing specialists?? [:-]

Well, I agree that the Manuf. should be honest and up front in their reporting about their specs on their bows, but that still will not change anything about the guy leaving the shop saying his bow shoots and arrow at 400 fps. He is either informed or not informed. The one thing we as consumers have going for us is other consumers. I have seen posts on forums like this that really helped me out on getting information and "real" specs on items. I have also seen reports on testing, that until the internet came along would have been very difficult to find out about.

But ultimatey, we still bare the responsibility for our being informed consumers and shooteers. I say this because the one thing you will rarely see or hear about is ( as others have said here ) an honest and up front marketing rep. executive.

Caviat emptor' .... let the buyer beware.

SPEED SELLS !!! thats the only reason. Manufacturers know that people want a super fast bow. How many people that you've talked to when looking at a bow. The first question usually is " How fast is it ". Not whats the brace height or A/A and how forgiving. I've seen alot of people buy a bow and not even shoot it first. Because it was rated over 325 fps. Then hate it when they got home and shot it. Reps. and Manufacturers are smart when advertising. Look at whats desscibed in large letters. the speed. We have in reality lost whats important in a bow. I wont buy a bow unless its proven itself to me!!!!
