QAD Rest

Has anyone had trouble with these rests? Mine has performed flawlessly until recently. It's designed to stay up when you draw but then decide to let down without firing. It use to do that. Now it only does it about 25% of the time.

My fletching also seems to make occasional contact. Not so much with feathers but with plastic vanes it's more frequent.

As of this weekend, it takes multiple attempts just to get the rest to "lock" in the up position.

Occasionally, it will fall without movement. Really starting to get frustrating now!

Awesome!!! What info did they need about the rest? I'm at work and can't give them any info if they ask such as serial #'s etc.

RE: QAD Rest

I didnt tell them serial #s either , they are shpping me a new one and want me to return the old one in the same package , I explained the problems I was haveing with it , severe fletch contact , and that was their solution . The reason I got intresed in the rest again , it was sitting on my shelf for a year1/2 ,is because a fellow hunter at elk camp was useing one with great sucess , great clearance with nap quickspins , and I know even slight contact with those vanes results in bad wrincles .

I am thinking about getting the Ripcord rest, I am wondering why you choose the QAD over the Ripcord? Thanks, MOBH

RE: QAD Rest

Personally, I switched from the ripcord to the QAD rest. One of the main factors then was that the rip cord would not stay up when you let down the draw. It would fall too. The QAD, by design, would stay up and keep the capture on the arrow.

However, this is one of the problems I'm having now is that the QAD will not remain up on let down and will occasionally fall all on it's own.

LD, that makes perfect sense ~ I did not realize the Ripcord dropped when you let down. That could get pretty ugly if you let down on your first draw waiting for a better second shoot or possibly another deer coming into the area. I guess you would have to draw down, then lift the fingers back up ~ huh?

That is correct. Outside of that, they are basically the same. I believe both are quality rests but I liked the QAD better because of the ability to let down and the rest continue to capture the arrow.

I will call them tomorrow about my rest. I'm glad they have a lifetime warranty as ijimmy pointed out.

The new rest is on it's way. Called customer service, actually left a voicemail after hours, and told them what the rest was doing. They called me back, left me a voicemail, with instructions on how to have it replaced.

I called them back and they are sending the new one out today or tomorrow. Very happy with their customer service!!

I took off my WB and put the QAD on . I had trouble with contact . The arrow was stripping the moleskin off the launcher . It was too close to hunting season to mess around and I put the WB back on . Shot a doe opening day . I'll play around with the QAD this winter when I start shooting in the basement .........

Same here except I couldn't get Fps and Bhs to hit the same spot. After rtying I was getting clearance problems. I went back to a prong style rest which i killed a doe with opening day. After the season I will work with the QAD again. I really like the rest.

Got the new replacement rest and have it on now. Definitely "tighter" than the "old one". Also came with a new prong designed for bows with fletching contact problems.

To say I'm happy with QAD and their customer service would be an understatement.

It only took me about 45 minutes to have it on and retuned. Since the rest the sent me was exactly what I'm returning, I simply set it in the same positions before I put it on.

Since I used the new TL1 or LT1 (can't remember) prong, which is higher than the original one, I lowered the rest a little, went out and shot a few times and adjusted it again.

Took it to gander mountain to paper tune it in their indoor range and within 5-10 minutes had them flying like darts again.

My qad rest would not work at all today in 20 degree temps. After I thawed it out, it was alright. I need to send it back and am hoping I get treated as well as you guys did! It's an older model and I was wondering if they will fix it or replace it? (the launcher spring seems to be getting weak.)

Its threads like this that keep the WB on my hunting bow. Just no problems with it. I may try a drop away on my target bow but that's it.

RE: QAD Rest

I just picked one up this weekend and shot it for the first time last night. I shot for clearence first, then moved to paper. I didn't have a bit of trouble, even with the original launcher on it. So far so good here.
