RE: string or serving?
ORIGINAL: ijimmy BS , I can serve by hand tighter than most factory string and cabels , without any tools , but he may have been doing you a favor by not doing it , if he was not abil to . Aftermarket is a diferant story as you get what you pay for . I hope you got some quality strngs , and not pse's stock strings . |
RE: string or serving?
Giblett I was not directing that at you , Ive been very pleased with the strings and cabels I recieved from you .
The BS was for the "proshop" guy . |
RE: string or serving?
It sounds like your pro shop guy either doesn't know what he's talking about or he only wants to get your money. What he told you is wrong. I have had my string reserved several times with no ill effect. If you regularly wax your string, and depending on how much you shoot, it should last a couple of seasons.

RE: string or serving?
I do my center servings by hand, no tools at all except a pair of needle nose pliers when I'm done. I don't know if they are as good as factory strings or not, but I haven't had any problems with any of the ones I have done for myself.
I wouldn't try to serve the ends myself though, not sure I'm that confident in my ability to trust that. Paul |
