Please Read!! - Help a 15 y/o join the US Archery Team and go to Mexico!!
#1
Well this young man has done his part by shooting his butt off and is now struggling with coming up with the money to compete for gold. He has been accepted onto the US Archery Team and invited to represent the very best of the USA in Mexico.
I have met Cory personally and had the opportunity to shoot with him and watch him. There is one word for his abilities............amazing. This is the kid that was in the shoot off behind the scenes at Lancaster Archery's Vegas tournament with Dave Cousins last winter. For those not familiar with Dave C, he is probably the most dominant professional archer in any type of archery ever. Cory has won literally every tournament he has entered this year, and below is a small sampling of a few of his state and national titles. He also has a world FITA record for 90 meters to his credit as well as the multiple state and national titles not listed below that he won in 2006.
2005 NYFAB Freestyle Unlimited - 1st New York State
2005 NYSAA Outdoor Freestyle Unlimited - 1st New York State
2005 NYFAB Indoor Freestyle Unlimited - 1st New York State
2004 NFAA Youth Freestyle Unlimited - 1st New York State
2004 NFAA Youth Male Freestyle Unlimited - 1st National
2004 NYFAB Youth Male Freestyle Unlimited - 1st New York State
2004 NFAA New England Sectional - 1st Sectional
2004 NYSAA Outdoor - 1st New York State
I think it is safe to say that short of equipment failure, if this young man can come up with the funding to go to Mexico, he will be bringing gold home to the US. Cory and I come from the same training camp and coach, and it is amazing to see the quantity of 450 and 60X targets on the wall from him at the Archery Barn that he was shooting at 13-14 years old.........I really want to see him have this opportunity to compete at the international level. Below are some links to media coverage about him andhis success.

Financially he is drained due to spending so much on travel to the different national competitions this year. He is looking for assitance from anyone and everyone that can spare a few bucks to help a kid pursue his dream. Not many people have the opportunity to compete at world championship levels at 15 years old..........if you would like to help Cory get to Mexico, donations are being accepted by check or paypal. Please make checks payable to Cory Monahan. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, andhe doesn't even know I posted this here for him. Paypal and address are as follows to send donations.
