i have a bear whitetail legend bow and i want to have a simple setup with it. I am not big into accuracy so i really dont want to spend bunches of money being 14 limits my spending. I need to put a new string on it and an arrow rest, the one it had previously was a plastic stick on rest and it looks like that is what should be used with it because it has a metal plate the size and shape of one and the string lines up with it perfectly. Can i use this type of rest if i use feathers? I think i can shoot fingers because i already shoot a longbow and have an excellent release with fingers or should i use a release?? Should i install a peep sight on this bow when i put on a new string or not I have a consistent anchor point..because i shoot longbowso would it be necessary??
thanks, Matt

Its all in what you want. If your shooting fine without peeps or releases, don't use them, just more stuff to get in your way. Some guys insist on 2" groups at 30 yards. They don't need it, but its what they want. Probably less stuff on there, the better.
