Velcro Releases

How many of you shoot releases that use velcro to secure it to your wrist? How do you keep this quiet when you draw back?

Thanks

Mine doesn't make any noise when I draw my bow. I don't know that I would buy a new one right before you go hunting, but once they are broken in that shouldn't be an issue.

They do make noise when you put them on or take them off. I just put mine on before I walk to my stand is all.

Having tried a few I didn't like the Velcros for that reason, so I bought the truefire buckle release. After shooting that I didn't like the head but did like the head from a truball release so I put the head of the truball on the truefire and have shoot that for 2 years. The buckle of the truefire is great because they have it set up so you don't have to put the end through the buckle every time. I don't see why you couldn't do what they did to any buckle.

Food for thought if you decide to dump the velcro.

I use a true fire with velcro and never notice any noise except for when I take it off. Its really not an issue for me.

well i returned my truball cyclone for a trufire stealth. you could hear the velcro make noise when i drew back, maybe it was because it wasn't broken in. Either way, the stealth is almost perfectly silent. So im happy with the buckle system a lot more. Plus, it seems to fit my wrist a lot better. The cyclone seemed a little small for a wrist. This stealth is much more comfortable.

I had one and they suck as they can make noise especially on a cold november AM. I swiched to a buckle and carry the velcro as a backup.

The buckle on my Carter Quickie catches on everything and I hate it. Sure wish I would have ordered a velcro like my wife's.

I have shot a velco release forfive years now. It makes a lot of noise when you take it off. As far as when its on or drawing back and shooting. No noise there.I have never tried a buckle one.

maybe the noise isn't as bad on lower poundage bows. But I was drawing on my 70 and it definately made noise, and it was a fairly expensive release from a reputable brand.
is there a way to quiet it?

I shoot a velcro Tru Fire release. Never had a problem with it making noise. A wise man once told me, before you get in the stand, draw your bow back three times. This will set the velcro so it doesn't make noise whenthe shot counts.

I shoot a velcro one and shied away from a buckle one because I felt it would eventually stretch and require another hole punched. Thet get quieter after some use, mine is now silent.

I have serious OCD when it comes to this. No noise on the draw but putting it on and taking it off seem super loud to me. I feel like every deer within a mile can hear it. I have a Sabertooth and love it, but I wish I had gotten the buckle.

Winn Free Flight. No noise except when taking it off. Just wait till you're at the truck to take it off.

I think I would rather have the velcro than the buckle type. Haven't had any problems with the velcro.

I use to have a velcro strap on my mongoose, and never really noticed it that much, untill i bought a tru-ball with a buckle. One: No noise. Two: Less creep in the length. Once you get a buckle set, it wont move as much as with a buckle.

RE: Velcro Releases

A new velcro release strap does make a bit of noise at first, but after it broken in, it's just as silent as a buckle strap. I use a velcro because I can adjust the wrist strap snug everytime--I find with the buckle strap, somedays it loose around the wrist, using the same hole, other days it works ok--I don't have this problem with the velcro strap.
