Default Extreme RT900 Sight?

I'm thinking about getting the new Extreme TR900 sight but The led light is mounted on the side where you mount the quiver and only lights up the tails of the fibers. Does thatit really make the pins brighter by lighting the tails of the fibers? Anybody that has this sight, I would like your opinions? Should I pass or buy it?

I like the extreme's, don't have one. My brother does and I have asked him repeatedly how the smaller site window effects the view. He won't answer. I'll have to wait until the season to see it for myself.

I have had lights and don't like them. They cause the pins to be to bright and I can't see the target well enough. I can see the pins on my copper john (not a huge amount of fiber) for as long as I can see what's in front of me. Around here we have overcast day's 90% of the time during the fall.

Hope that's some help. Give a review on it if you do. I'd be interested.

I don't have the 900 series, but I do have a 400 extreme.

I bought it used and it came with the .019" pins I thought I wanted because my .029" pin covers up too much of my target past 25 yards.
The .019 pins didn't shine very well at all. Granted they also don't have the extra fiber length like the 900 so this may not be an issue.

I ordered one .029" pin for my 20 pin and the purple haze light. This has made the sight much more to my liking.

The purple haze does wonders for the .019 & .029" pins.

I'm not sure about the light blocking your quiver mount- I thought they incorperated this feature further back?

BTW, some people like the lights for nightime hog hunting- not just the dawn & dusk moments.

If you could get your hands on both sized pin sights you'd probably know which you wanted right away. Their .029"ers don't seem as large as my VBG .029" pin does.

Sounds like the light is a $20.00 gamble?
