Default Bocote Grip for my Old Glory

I've been working on this grip fow a day or two and it's about done Going with Tru-oil for a shiny finish but here a pic or two before final sanding. I wanted a bit higher wrist on a different grip and I think I'll like this one.

Very nice.........this would be an awesome alternative to the shrewd grips that freeze your hand when hunting. My fingers were so numb on the grip of my Allegiance in the late season last year, wish I had one of these then.

Very perceptive!! That is exactly what I was trying to produce with this grip is the "stop" at the top of the grip like the Shrewd target grip. It has a more defined shelf area for your hand to be positioned each time. I really didn't have enough of this wood to get crazywith so this one is a little less pronounced than a Shrewd. I have some walnut and bubinga that I'm going to do for my neighbor so we'll try again with his. He wants a "fatter" grip with an even higher wrist.

Looks great! Bocote is a beautiful wood. My Thunderstick Longbow which should be here this month has a riser made out of pure bocote.

That's a cool grip Russ.......but show them the rest sitting above it too while you are at it.

Looks Great Russ! The width looks like it will even assist with any inclination to torque the bow also.
