Default Shaft cut off saw

I am thinking about a cut off saw. Any suggestions as to what to buy, how much to pay, where to buy it? I'm in Canada but buying across the boarder is no problem if need be.

I just bought one off ebay for $26.00 US. Its the orange one from Harbour Freight tools that seems fairly popular. I have seen similar ones at Princess Auto for $99.00 CDN. There are always 3 or 4 for sale on ebay. Should have mine in a couple weeks or so after the dimwits at canada customs decide its not a weapon and let it through.

Sorry Terry, I meant an arrow shaft cut off/chop saw to cut shafts to length.

Got the same thing a yellow looks like table saw but mini for cutting off the shafts. Works great then I use a G5 shaft tool to deburr and make sure shaft is square! [8D]

JL, you're in Iraq right now???? Come back in one piece.
I have a G5 tool as well. Princess Auto sells archery stuff??????? I have had their catalogues as well and never saw an archery shaft cut off saw or do you guys mean that you bought a mini chop saw for metal and use it for arrow shafts?

That's also what I am talking about. The saw at Princess auto is not an "archery" item just one of those no name mini cutoff saws they carry. I saw it at the Dixie Rd store in Missisauga in the back corner near the saw blades on the back wall.

The one pictured here is what I got off ebay and is available from Harbour Freight for $29.99 US.

Yepper about time to come home from here though. I guess you could say it is a saw for metal or wood, small diameter pipes or tubing. It works great and with the G5 tool to even it up and deburr. Course I use these real small carbon shafts that require overserts and over nocks. They fly great though! [8D]

How big are the wheels on these mini chop saws?

I posted a how-to on making one of these last summer.

Let me do a little digging and I'll see what I can come up with for you.
