Pic Of My New Blue Bowtech

I recently got my new Bowtech Blue Equilizer 3D Bow and thought I share a pic of it.:D
I havent finished setting it up since I cant shoot it yet since I amputated part of my index finger off and I am waiting on my new Stone Mountain Dakota strings for it... but as soon as the finger heals I'll be shooting her..
It's killing me to just look at her and not be able to shoot her:(.
It's came set at 27 inch draw at 60.1 lbs shooting 298 FPS, but I swaped out the draw modules to lower it to a 26 inch draw and moved the post to 80% letoff.

That is one beautiful bow! May I ask how you amputated part of the index finger?

gibblet 03-07-2006 08:11 AM

RE: Pic Of My New Blue Bowtech

wow!beautiful! better get a glove if you want to shoot it outside and its cold. that shrewd will give you frostbite and they'll have to amputate the rest of your fingers.

Wow!! My wife would love to see that one in person and I'd bet she wouldn't want to let go;) She has an Equalizer in Advantage Max 4 camo in 60 pounds and 26 inch draw and it does 289 fps with a 301.4 grain arrow[8D]It's very quiet and she shoots it very well,,,,,,,,,, look out turkeys!!:D

Walks;
I didnt think I really liked the Bowtech's in the Max-4 Camo at first but the more I looked at it the more I like it now...We havent got one in the shop in the Realtree Hardwoods yet to see how they look in that camo.. I am curious to see how the Hardwoods will look, I have seen pics but its just not the same as seeing it in person.
As for the finger... I had it in the wrong place at the wrong time, it was a freak accident... I had it in the cam of a bow when the string broke and the string breaking caused the cam to spin and it amputated the index finger tip at the base of the finger nail.. and the cam chewed up the finger tip so they could not reattach it.. but it's healing pretty well so far, so it shouldnt be to much longer before I can start shooting again.
Hey Mitch;
How many FPS areyou getting out of that Blue Stared Bow you got from Bowtech;)

The FPS are not real good, but the hand shock is non existant. No recoil, and have I mentioned light yet? :D

Hope you can get back to shooting soon!! But was just curious as to why you can't shoot? If you use a release, there is no pressure on your fingers at all.

OUCH!! Probably the fastest way to loose a finger tip[:@]Sorry to hear about your accident and hope it won't affect your shooting. Shop owners should be on the look out when customers come in with little kids. At just the wrong time, little ones can grab the string on the bow that dad's got at full draw and get pinched when dad lets down!

Ya... but where do you attach a quiver on that thing... and it looks like
0 % letoff to me...but look on the bright side you can always unravelthat bowand use it to drag out a buddy's deer.
As for shooting ...It was my bowhand index finger that I injured and when I try to draw the bow and grip it, itpulls on the tendons in my finger and the Amputation cut offthebone in the finger tip so the firstjoint in the finger below the nail is still very stiff and hurts to bend even slightlyand is still painful...but I will be trying again next week.... kind offustrating since I had just worked my way back up to pulling 62 lbs after hurting my shoulder... oh well time to start over again;)

Ouch!!

Beautiful bow, though. I thought that was the prettiest color scheme of all the variations Pat brought to Illinois with him. We had a Liberty in the booth with us built up just like that; she was puu-uurty!

The bow is pretty, but I don't think I want someone saying my bow is pretty unless I'm a girl. I say it's time to get a manly bow! Mathews XT is the bow to get if you want to kill something. Let the pretty bows for the ladies, and the real bow (Mathew XT) for the men.

Does that mean if you had a Mathews Switchback XT in target colors that it becomes NOT a manly bow? :D Funny, I know a big Mathews pro shop where the owner used the punkinseed colored riser LX to hunt with. I seriously doubt you would have the gonads to tell him he was not a man to his face.;)

Geese .... it took 3 pages before someone started to mention Mathews in this thread.... you guys are slipping.
If you set the Mathews XT and The Bowtech Equalizer both at 27 inch Draw and both at 60lbs shooting the same weight arrowyou will find the Bowtech Equalizer will shoot faster than and have more kenetic energy stored in the arrow than the Mathews Switchback XT.... So why would you consider the XT to be a real bow but not the Equalizer?????
P.S. They are both good bows in my opinion.... but then I am not a member of MENSA;)

Do I need to remind you which bow wins most of the 3D tournaments? I did not think so. However, I could care less about 3D shooting. I am talking about getting out in the woods under real life conditions where the animals really move. I have seen many want-a-be hunters who can smoke a 3D target, but when confronted with Mr. Mossy Oak, could not hit the broad side of a barn.

By the ways guys, I just wanted to stir the pot a little and get some trash talking back and forth. Looks like it worked. I am a Mathews’ shooter and will defend them with as much conviction as you will defend Bowtech. Now where are all the Mathews guys out there? Jump in here and stand up for your weapon of choice!

By the way, I just picked up my new Mathews XT yesterday (and love it), can I get a congrats on my new bow?

The congratulations on the new blue Bowtech goes to a lady, not a he. Maybe if you start your own thread showing your new XT somebody will congratulate you.

RE: Pic Of My New Blue Bowtech

This has far more to do with how much Mathews is willing to pay its shooters than the quality of the bow; I live right down the road from an eight-time world champion who won his first six or seven world titles with a Hoyt. Mathew called him up and offered him more money... Guess what? He now shoots a Mathews. It had nothing to do with the bow, but everything to do with the amount of money he could make shooting that particular model...

All the top manufacturers make bows that are better than we mortals can ever coax out of them; it just comes down to personal preference and what you like in a bow.

I realize you're new to the site, and may have indeed just wanted to "stir the pot" so to speak; most of us old-timers quit playing those games long ago. Stick around, and welcome to our little corner of the universe!

Don't even go there...... A bow does not win a 3D tourney....the shooter does and the same people would win with whatever bow they rep that particular day. I know I could shoot the same score with any bow. Mathews is the best bow company to shoot for as a Pro because they are taken care of as a staff shooter. I personally know many who shoot the bow for the MONEY and prefer other bows for choice.

I'm not bashing Mathews, I almost bought one myself but when it came down to my final choice after shooting Hoyt for 10 years and comparing the Switchback, Allegiance and Trykon, I picked the Allegiance in a heads up comparison, the Switchback fallen 3rd in the list, FOR ME. There are tons of members here where the Switchback was their pick although most never shot the other 2, not all, but most. If you speficially go into a Mathews dealer and shoot the Switchback, buy the Switchback and take the Switchback home, you'll love it but you'll never know if it was the right choice until you shot the others heads up.

Like I said many times, Mathews makes a great bow, the only problem they have is the arrogance of some of their shooters.

Since your a newbie I won't jump on you but simply let you know, On this forum, we don't have the I SHOOT THE BEST BOW peope...because everyone here knows it doesn't exist.......we all shoot a fantastic bow regardless of choice and stirring the pot will only make your stay here a short one.

Thanks for the welcome Greg. Hopes there is no hard feeling about the Bowtech bashing. Truth be told, I firmly believe any bow can be a great bow in the hands of a good shooter. I also agree that the top 3D shooters go where the money is.I myself am not so much into 3D shooting as I am intobeing in the woods hunting. My first bow was a Browning Ambush 80 and I harvested six deer with it my first year. The next year I bought a Buck Master G2 and harvested 15 deer with it over the past two years. This year I decided to buy one last bow (I hope). I shot many of the new bows on the market and I personally like the Mathews XT the best. When presented with the opportunity to harvest a wild animal, I want a bow that I am comfortable shooting and confident in its ability to hit where I am aiming. For me, that choice is the XT.

Lady Forge, that is a very nice bow. Hope you are enjoying it.

BTW, this doesn’t mean I’m kissing and making up with the Bowtech shooters…lol
